Still kind of hard though seeing as how the only way Chara is actually "there" is at the end of a Genocide run.

From what I grasp the whole thing is based on the idea that Chara is "with you" in both runs in spirit (Charator Theory) so they take that idea, ignore the "dead" part and then ship the two together because it has symbolism of light/dark purity/corruption mercy/fight and all that.

Most often it's accepted that Frisk got the super secret hidden platinum ending and brought Asriel, Chara, and (sometimes) Gaster back into the living world.
There are also some that are basically the idea of Charator and Frisk falls in love with Chara as a ghost, though.
But honestly I don't ship them often so I am not an expert. I just posted that because I was in a sing-song mood.

Chara on the other hand is actually entirely dead, and their ghost/soul thingie can only attempt to possess Frisk at best.

I didn't mention the "Oh its ok Frisk does some Determination bullshit and gets Chara/Asriel/Gaster" because that one is more far fetched in my opinion. Atleast through the Charator theory we see the connection between the two. But you're right about all that. I'm a huge sucker for the symbolism and shit behind Charisk so I'm trash in that respect.

Also, I just love the idea of pre Undertale Chara. Yeah she hated humanity and almost killed Asgore and killed Asriel, but the thought of those two being happy and having fun and full of love is so...nice. All of the art is great, and Chara's just my fave.

Well I have acquired three computers one Mac and two PCs.

Frisk goes on to continue adventuring across the world with Asgore and Toriel to protect them, Chara as their sarcastic ghost companion, and Flowey in his flower pot.

Asgore and Toriel reconcile with the possibility of getting back together now that they have something of a family again.

Chara slowly learns to trust other humans through the actions of Frisk and genuinely regrets their actions, but tries not to dwell on them.

Flowey understands that Frisk has Chara with them, but never really a dresses it. He at least finds seeing the world interesting, and is rarely bored like he was in the Underground.

Sans and Alphys decide to use their scientific knowledge to connect the CORE to above ground, giving millions power for their homes. They go on to do many great things and earn the Nobel Prize.

Undyne trains to become a world class athlete to show that humans and monsters can be equals, and is the first monster to win the Olympic Games. She also lives a happy life with Alphys.

Papyrus tries many things throughout his life, but eventually ends up as part of a kids show centered around cooking. While kids were afraid of him at first, his antics and attitude quickly earned their love, and he becomes a hit kids show.

Sans slowly comes to understand that Frisk will not abuse their power to RESET, and slowly comes out of his nihilistic attitude and becomes truly happy again.

Mettaton is just as famous above ground as he was under, and is quickly launched into the spotlight of human tv, and he couldn't love it more. He becomes one of Hollywood's hottest stars.

Well to start, Sans already has a job as a comedian at MTT hotel. Mettaton likely noticed Sans' popularity and "promoted" him. After all, every star -must- have an agent. Sans has no reason to refuse the offer either. If his brother's dead, he really has no motivation for living, and he's always been a mellow guy who goes with the flow. If his brother's alive, getting promoted helps him keep Mettaton from doing anything to his brother. I wouldn't be surprised if Sans was the one who convinced Mettaton to make Papyrus his second agent, ensuring his brother is always nearby and will not "disappear" without Sans knowing it.

Oh, and as to why Sans would work for a ruthless dictator, monster society has always had a ruler. Sans doesn't want to be a ruler nor make his brother king, so a dictator bringing order is better than nothing at all. Also, everything's probably gonna be reset anyhow, and even if it isn't, the ending of the universe isn't too far away so it doesn't really matter who's king.
