Mostly interested if the community has decided on ashen estus in fight clubs or duels yet. Just got done being a purp in a fight club where it was me, the host, a red wearing a human ring and a password mage. Password and human were duking it out, and mage was chugging that blue gatorade. I think after the third chug (dude doing nothing but spell spamming) non-password man sips the Sunny D. Host goes after him, mage still shooting.
So I do what any purp would do.
Mage down, host dances for a bit but eventually me and human get him too.
So is there a community rule on ashen estus? Or just personal opinion?

How are you guys able to pvp with weapons that can be parried? I feel like I can't use anything but ultra greatswords and other great weapons because I will get parried and die like a bitch if I do.

I think it's that the poster set usually represents the playable character but this time it's the final boss. You can get the armor after you kill him without going to NG+ but at that point yeah it's NG+ unless you missed a few areas.

In retrospect, that was somewhat my mistake.
The coif is supposed to hang loosely, but the armor I replaced with it had visibility flags that made it snug around the neck.

Really all they need is to hide your face with something like Artoria's helm or the Desert Sorceress hood.

Jumping attacks and charged strong attacks help.

You can also predict when they parry and walk behind them for a backstab. That works pretty well in my experience, but only against the kind of players who like to be faggots and spam their parries.

Ashen flask should be fine, considering its literally a necessity to doing damage as a mage, the only time I think it's questionable would be if someone keeps spamming heal spells- but those are easily punished before the heal goes off so i don't see why anyone would get too pissy about it

Thief as starting class.
It depends what you want to use. Hollow/Bleed/Poison infusions have ties to Luck. Hollow scales off of Luck and Bleed/Poison buildup is tied to how much Luck you have (just a protip:Poison infusion not really worth it right now). There's also Anri's SS which scales off of Luck. There's several options to choose from so take a pick.

The problem with fatrolling in 3 is that you literally cannot escape thrusting swords or straightswords by fatrolling.
If you roll out of a 2 hit stunlock they can take a step forward, catch the end of your roll and initiate another 2 hit stunlock over and over until you die.

Same if you need to roll out of the recovery of a an attack or anything else.

You literally cannot roll against any fast weapon or you're caught in the infinite vortex. This means you have to block in place of rolling, but that also means you're always going to be stamina deficient (especially because there's a massive regen penalty for being over 69%) and it means that running low or out of stamina is essentially game over.

It's because they only need to hit your character model on their end and it will register as a hit. And because of latency, which will be always there no matter how good the connection, your character on your end is standing at a different place as your character at their end. That's what causes the so called phantom range.
