I am so fucking tired of CoP RUNNING LIKE SHIT. What the fuck.

AO3 for CoP is fucking AWFUL. The FoV is fucked, don't even see my AK when sprinting.

AKSU model while running looks JANKY AS FUCK like its moving at 5 fps despite my fps being 60-150, which also just feels like shit.

Something is wrong, but I've reinstalled and tried many different settings. Vanilla the game runs great but AO with or without Pripyat Reborn just makes the game run like shit, even after altering switch distances and things in the alife.ltx.

I just don't understand, what is going on. As soon as I switched to DX9 is CS it ran fine, but on CoP it doesn't really seem to affect it. I spent hours over this problem yesterday, I just wanna play some fucking CoP man.

I suck at making them, or rather I made one but didn't know how to get it small enough to upload to a site.

Okay maybe its not as bad as I am making it out to be but I have stutters every now and then, where frames just dip like 30 down from w/e they are. It says I am getting over 100 fps but it just doesn't feel like. The weapon issue I was talking about seems related to just the AKSU, it really looks bad when springing, almost 2D-ish but thats because I am guessing its model just looks bad. Everything else looks pretty alright.

The envornment and everything else runs pretty normal, and the game feels okay when I am just standing still and aiming or shooting.

Also I have a strange issue where when I try to aim with a weapon, sometimes it just doesn't work. It'll start to raise the weapon then just stop, and bug out. Really annoying and impossible to deal with in a game where I need to be able to aim quickly.

Ahh thanks, i blew up master with a fuel canister just to be sure, and killed diodor with a silenced weapon. Also im playing AA, and i can't decide between the "lightened L85" and the g36, the g36 is more accurate and has a better scope, but it takes a while for that thing to shoot, it has a long folding animation. They do the same damage, a bonus for the l85 is that its silenced and its lighter.

Also a question to werejew, will the l85 be able to mount a grenade launcher? They share the same one with the g36 afaik.

lol i'm hoping to do that. gotta do a few more world models (got 99 done yesterday). played through limansk with warfare before work today and really the main thing missing at this point are updated icons. the world models make very little difference to me personally but I guess I'm just getting them knocked out of the way for other people who care more.

So I guess to give people an idea, and to get my own thoughts straight, here is what is left:

probably 20 to 40 world models
icons for the new scopes (which I'm working on now)
setting up a few more reticles (most are done; got them set up before leaving for work today)
names + descriptions for new weapons (thankfully someone is helping me with this so I can focus on other stuff)
gotta add in one or two new ammo types (easy)
going to adjust some weapon recoil (some weapons have huge recoil at the moment for whatever reason; thankfully I have that excel sheet I made to work with)

All weapons are aligned, and I have someone whos going to help me get weapon names + descriptions done. Traders need to be a little more populated with new weapons, though a lot of the weapons are in.

Honestly I think I'm going to post a zip this weekend whether its completely set or not and just make sure people are aware its more of a preview than anything.

Oh I meant if the shit is fixable via modding openxray or something, I heard that for some reason if AP is less than 1 bullets can't piece other objects. That said, your solution is better than having deathrays, I just hope 9x39 won't be as meme as usual (eg have more penetration than 7.62, both RFN and x54.

Alright, I got all the icons I'm going to do for now done and most of the hand textures and models set and finished: like 70% of them.

I've got some more suits and helmets to script and I still have to test and balance stats and make sure everything is working in case I made a typo or something while copy pasting shit. Lastly I have player models and NPCs wearing armor, which will have to happen last because it'll take me the longest. I gotta write out descriptions and do upgrade trees too.

I'm not going to ETA a release because sometimes shit happens, but getting all that work minus NPCs and player models will take about a week and the NPCs/player models will probably take about that by themselves. I'll release the mega once I get all the hand models and scripting/descriptions finished and update it for NPCs and player models later.

Modelling hands and texturing them isn't hard but putting together a good looking full-body model out of frankenparts takes me a lot longer and I have a lot to do.

That's the point: you have to use cover to heal, you have to find a safe location to remove rads. So you have more to deal with in combat, you can't just instaheal your way through anything with a stack of 20 medkits.

You can disable this stuff pretty easily if it bothers you. One of the script files has a table that covers all of the effects and durations. Unhooking the Medicine mod completely is a little more effort, but not by much.

I personally would say play SoC first, it runs good depending on what mod you use. CoP is a different area than SoC, but things CoC mod bring together all the maps of the the three games.

Clear Sky has you going through some new places plus all the old places of SoC. CoP has different large areas itself plus underground areas.

CS has severe ballistics issues. There was a mod years ago that made some tiny changes and the entire game was actually playable again. The main issue with ballistics is the bullets disappear after a ridiculously short range. If you've played any other stalker game you'll notice this immediately.
The enemies are bullet sponges in CS because of i-frames during animations.
Also have to mention the retarded NPC collision boxes. Meaning you will get trapped by friendly NPCs in rooms/corridors. Also they will push you out of cover like crazy.
It's still worth playing but prepare to rage if you play vanilla.

PM fucking literally had its bullets disappear after 30 meters, AK had its bullet speed set to something like 500 m/s, which is almost half of what it actually is. Not to mention the spread on the same AK. That is, of course, unless they've changed it gorillion of patches later.

The way upgrade system was presented in CoP and CS is also fucking garbage, and maybe it's part of the reason why base (read unupgraded) weapon stats suck so much dick.

Can NPCs loot blue box stashes in AMK AE, or can stashed items disappear?

I left my fully decked Sig 550 in the blue box in 100 rads bar, did some quests at Agroprom, came back, and it was gone. Checked the inventories of the other stalkers but none had it.

Should I leave my shit in a safer stash, or is this a bug?

So I thought I was having an issue related to STALKER the other day and it turns out I think my mouse is fucked. Right click doesn't seem to hold or register well enough. It can be finicky. It isn't that stashes are unsafe or backpacks are safe. Any storage reachable by NPCs is unsafe, including stashes reachable by ladders. Use a stash reachable only by jumping and you're ok. Likewise, place backpacks where a jump is required to get to it.

I don't really play many MMOs these days, so it's not an issue anymore. The big deal is losing a ton of easy-access keys for Arma 3, but I haven't played any A3 since I received it.
The Naga is still functional, the scroll wheel was giving up, all the pads underneath are fucked and it sometimes double-clicks; I'll just use it when I need it. Well, I dragged the patch over again, and this time I was able to load into the AP underground and play normally, but hard saves made down there wont load, neither will the autosave from entering it. I seem to be able to access it nopw everytime using my save from right outside the entrance with Mole but if I'm not going to be able to save or load the whole time down there... Yes, skip spoilers and play blind. You're trying to kill a guy named Strelok. You're chasing all known sightings through various levels. Mole gave you another location he could be at. Stay on the trail.

The only thing you need to know is that at some point you'll be told to go look up a guy named Guide as a side quest. Do this and the follow up quest from it right away, don't progress too far in the main quest once that quest is given to you.

Read the Diary section in your PDA, it fills up with more detail as you progress.

I'm all for the modded vanilla+ first run, but AMK with all its spawn changes is a poor choice. Vanilla game does a decent job of upping the atmosphere. AMK does a great job of stirring shit up right from the start, very different.

That first time in the underground will not have any real impact after AMK has put you through the wringer

AA2 is a better first time mod by far other than the artifact detectors which guarantee for eg that babby will not find his first Urchin, basically the best artifact in the game.

ZRP + texture + weather + ballistics is a good place to start.

I'm just finishing up on upgrade trees, stat balancing, and writing descriptions now. After some balance testing and making sure all hand models don't look screwy I'll release it and begin working on mashing together models and texturing them for NPCs to wear.

Honestly my first ever playthrough was 2 years ago, and i platyed without anything, just regular SoC 1.6 or what was the latest version, and i loved it, there were no bugs or anything as far as i noticed, sure i hated the gunplay but i loved the atmosphere and everything else. Its not like i played it when it came out, i have played much more polished newer games and still liked it, i played amk and it completely changed the game for me, i mean it changed the whole feel of the game, and stalker is all about the feeling. I mean im playing AA and its dissapointing not hearing "get out of here stalker" and "don't just stand there come in", i really miss those things, they were bugs but they gave the game some charm.

I already went back and took them out, here is my final final. I wanted Sid and some of the important NPCs with recognizable voices to voice their lines but it changed EVERY line in the game even from random NPCs and that sucks.

Honestly id settle for some reskins, as much as id like different models what id like more is just more suits with different stats and upgrades so i can choose the right suit i want. If its just a Monolith suit with flecktarn camo* pattern or the heavy cs1 varian with flektarn* im fine honestly as long as i have a variety of suits with different upgrades im fine.

Well I started working on putting together a clean folder for ws which I'm planning to get finished today; mainly doing this because NPCs weren't throwing grenades for whatever fucking reason. Gonna be finishing up icons while at work as well as probably trader files and fixing up ammo as well as editing the configs to use the new world models I made. But either way, saturday or sunday is when I'll make a mega repo for it. I'm probably not going to have the acog scopes be 3d since some of the meshes aren't entirely set up just yet. mark 4 and acog would be the only ones that wouldn't be 3d, but I'll probably do 3d acogs pretty early on either way.

You die random hours after passing the limit with no indication you're dying from alcohol poisoning. Sounds perfect for your first run of a game where alcohol is the only means available for reducing a common ailment early game. It's a fine mechanic, just poorly implemented and unfit as is for a first run of the game.

Plenty of other good reasons provided that you didn't bother addressing after your many excited cries of "show me ONE good reason, just ONE." Let's call this bad idea done and dusted, shall we?

Where exactly does this happen? I tried playing a while in bar and it was fine (took over the map and everything). Could you get me the entire log when it happens? I've seen them before and I don't think there is anything useful but maybe this time, who knows.

I guess I'm probably going to set duty's traders + mechanics back to their originals, maybe its something to do with that. That or maybe an issue with the all.spawn I'm using, though the no stack trace thing makes it hard to diagnose unfortunately.

Those aren't in yet, though I guess the sv98 is permanently attached to the sv98 right now. I may end up doing the usual optics on that before release since its quick for a single weapon and since it has picatinny rails. pks-07 will never be 3d until I can get render target scopes working (look at the pks-07 and you'll understand why).

1pn93, pk-a, and 3d susat will be in the first update. the 1pn93 model I have has fucked up normals - stcop 2.8 somehow uses models with horrible normals that DIDNT crash the actor editor. I even used the converter to convert it from ogf to .object and I couldn't export that even. Pretty frustrating. Luckily that 1pn93 is up on gamebanana where the normals won't be entirely fucked.

The CS one? I played it and I found it alright. I felt that It's less buggy and more refined than the warfare mod for CoC, but all the focus went into the faction wars so there is not much to do besides capture territory for your faction. I found Mercs to be the most fun as you start off without a proper base and rely on the scientists, and have to capture the duty base for the faction trader to spawn.

Might be wasting your time here man, I copied my default install and chucked on Warfare with Ceanos Hud and remove detector beep and I can't duplicate. Tried new character, zone transition and alt factions. Seems to me I missed a step in my STCoP/Warfare install that's probably causing it.
