All this change did was remove some weapons from PvP. You'll likely still see them in Invasions, but with Invasions already taking a cut from your estus, why would you take another just to use Ashen?

Farron Ring isn't worth it either. 25% isn't significant enough to warrant over wearing over any of your other rings.

Melee characters aren't going to stack attunement just so they can use skills that are on average worse than simple R1 spam. They aren't going to give up their healing flasks in order to chug an ashtus every 15 seconds.

Yeah, but why would this make a simple caestus no longer viable? You just have to wait a bit longer to reach the amount of FP needed, and for pure melee characters, I'd rather passively regen FP to use a WA every now and then than carry around a flask dedicated to a bar that's not very useful to me overall.

Right now I'm comparing the spellbuffs, and it seems there is quite a difference though? 202 spellbuff at 50 Int, 220 at 55 Int and 238 at 60 Int. That's about a 10% difference in damage/attack between 50-55 and another 10% difference between 55 and 60. You really think that hit in damage is worth the drop from SL90 to SL80? Hmm....

Pyromancy has more damage compared to fp cost, but you'll need to know how to free aim to get effective use out of it. Especially with Orbs. It's MUCH better for PvE since it doesn't need 2 rings and dusk crown to deal good damage.

Sorcery is kinda like estoc turtling, you whittle people down with farron darts and create space with crystal hail. Then use flashsword for a keep off me spell, then when they back off and heal you CSS them in the face. Not very good for PvE until Archives though sadly.

2H strength scaling is back to Das1 where it's only 150% rather than like in Das2 it was 200%. You need 34 strength to 2H FUGS. I'd recommend the full 50 strength though because then you can 1H dead angle motherfuckers all day while they try and parry.

Oh and from one pure strength to another, invest into getting your END to 40 and wear the ring of favor. You're going to want the 160 stamina. So many heavy weapon users I've seen neglect END.
