So, /owg/, when did you stop caring that she isn't a petite anime cliche and start realizing that Zarya is an absolute monster in close to mid range?

Even in pubs, I am learning to predict when a random will run in so I can shield them and soak up the sweet damage boost. Then I run into the fray and kick on my own as soon as I start taking fire.

That satisfying hum raising in pitch as I reach double power is so thrilling to me.

I guess the drawback is her ult needs to be coordinated with. But I just power up to 100, pop it and try to melt as many people floating around the singularity as I can. Usually 2-3 or more if no tanks in the mix.

I came into this game thinking I would NEVER try Zarya, but I'm glad I did.

Forced 50

It exists, but not for reasons you think it does.

To determine a player's skill level, they must play many games against lower, as well as higher skill level enemies so that the game can discern where they lie.

For the first portion the game is played by a person, they will be placed with very low MMR players. If they win, their opponents will likely be slightly higher MMR, and if they lose, likely lower.

Untill you play at least 300+ games, an ELO system more likely than not has you placed outside your actual skill level.

Patience is a virtue in this regard; if you play enough and are good enough you will eventually be matched with other players who are the same.

I suppose the explosive classes, Pharah and Junkrat can both propel themselves pretty fast while shooting at the same time, but those are pretty generous splash damage projectiles. I think Lucio is the closest to what I'm looking for, someone who goes really fast all the time and has a gun that requires a bit of aiming, but for some reason people think Lucio is supposed to stand still and not go really really fast all the time. Genji maybe? I haven't tried Genji, I don't know whether his double jumps feel like going fast.

You will still probably die to the flashbang+fan after the nerf, unless you're playing a very beefy tank. The devs regard McCree's ability to win a 1vs1 against any small or medium health hero as integral to game balance and something positive in the game. The only problem they see at the moment is McCree's ability to destroy tanks which means he effectively counters everyone in the game (except Widowmaker maybe).
I hate it because it's very frustrating to play against a hero where there's nothing you can do except pray you never come face to face with him around a corner or get ambushed. I wish there was another hero that could keep Tracer and Genji in check without also destroying everyone else with 200/250 hp
