This fucker managed to market his upcoming game in such a skillful manner, he actually got us thinking of multiple theories regarding the outcome of the game's story
He hyped it up with cool gameplay and made extravagant promises nobody could deliver on.
What really happened was that he got rid of the main voice actor, licensed weapons, and all wacky fun elements present in previous games.
Upon release, he neuters Motherbase's liveliness, removes most of the voicelines of that extravagant Hollywood actor, boss fights and even a whole new map campaign(presumably as a red herring considering it's on the bluray).
He leaves you with the Phantom Pain.

Before the game's release, he staged his falling out with the publisher, the guys he worked with for thirty fucking years and always treated him like a rockstar, he was kicked out of his VP seat.
This is how he eliminates hope for anything after Phantom Pain.

Everybody finished the game, most were disappointed by the end of this series.
Very few people noticed the only thing left unsolved.
In every fucking game he shoves anti-nuclear messages and statistics down your throat.
This time you've got the chance to prove him right. Eliminating himself from the view, you're doing it exactly for the "greater good, just cause".

the stealth mechanic is fine, my first playthrough was basically octopus every mission, you are just the worst player i have ever seen, and how long are to taking each mission for someone to wake up from being Ko'd? 5 minutes is long enough and you deserve to be punished for still having to do the mission for that long with a sleeping guy waking up.
and the non-lethal guns are fine, for fucks sake build your own custom guns, they are overpowered as shit.

It's honestly a clever way to keep you coming back to the game every now and then.
They're not releasing daily missions or objectives, but the development times and rewards keep giving you incentive to play the game in little chunks, giving you that little metal gear fix every now and then.

IMO Reunion could have been for a couple of reasons:
- Players complaining too much
- Removing a dependable or preferred game mid-game can be argued as unfair or a test of skill from that point on
- Making the player feel "Phantom Pain"

I believe that if Reunion was in the game from the start, it would have more purpose, but it came in a patch and the surprise was ruined by data miners.

MGSV was bad on purpose, empty landscapes, half-finished content, missing chapters, and things being wildly different from the trailers, most of it was on purpose.

I understand that is the most autistic handwaving dicksucking thing ever said in the history of mankind, but it's true. but the feelings of loss, betrayal, anger, "phantom pain", etc. are the themes of the game, and Kojima had actively set out to make the player experience what venom was experiencing.
