Since about Thursday responsiveness was getting spotty. There'd sometimes be a second or two delay on attack and response, it would sometimes just not have anything respond for up to five seconds. Then each day it got worse, the delay would be worse, it would do that thing where it hangs for a while then everything catches up in fast-forward.

By the time it was patch day I could log in, go to attack an enemy, the game would do nothing for about 20 seconds then just plain disconnect me.

The issue seems to be FF14 exclusive as everything else is running as normal.

the problem is they don't actually know who is doing it. the real farmers/botters are extremely intelligent and many are actual players that not only play the game legitimately but do illegal things on the side, causing them to amass giant amounts of gil that they sell to these gil selling sites.

They have resources, to the point of which banning them does almost nothing - because any legitimate farmer has multiple bots, multiple accounts. You do not want to do the logistics because they are depressing - lets just say that the gil situation won't improve.

They could always go the Blizzard route. One of the most well known and highly used bots was Honorbuddy in WoW as the owners refused to cave to Blizzard trying to pay them off to shut them down. Eventually Blizz figured out the ins and outs of it and ban people on sight and didn't even have to pay off the company. Realm Reborn buddy is the same damn thing with the same concept and the same owners, just a different game. I know tons of gold sellers in WoW still exist but a HUGE amount of them got removed due to Honorbuddy basically being rendered useless (for the gold side of things, anyway.)

The same could apply to XIV but I don't know if SE just doesn't give a shit or they don't have the manpower to bother with it.

The method is to just remove the program that enables botting and they'll eventually fall off on their own or start seeking less legitimate-looking alternatives.

barring what will very likely be a paltry exchange rate, any stockpiled Red Scrip Tokens are likely now completely worthless.

in a sense, the shift to Goblin Dice / Goblin Cups is similar to a shift to a new limited Tomestone. Red Scrip Token acquisitions have been converted to the uncapped Blue Scrip Tokens and, in order to prevent somebody sitting on tons of Red Scrip Tokens from completely trivializing all new Red Scrip items, they created a new Token.

basically, whoever had 450 red crafter's scrips sitting unspent in their currency menu are the real winners here.

There's a very good chance materia prices will have a quick increase in the initial days of the patch as people panic buy materia to meld on the new omni gear, so there is that too.

Alternatively, you can trade your red tokens in for Blue Scrips. The exchange rate is currently unknown but blue scrips are good for folklore, i180 gear and stuff needed for crafter recipes, so it's not a complete waste.

I think your chances will be okay granted you logged off near a main city aetheryte or near the housing entrance. It's over 700 plots and plots were freeing up quite a bit until they put up the stop for the earthquake. Thankfully we're not on a server like Balmung or Gilgamesh where they'll be jacked by alts and such pretty much immediately. I checked all 3 areas before servers went down and I found a grand total of maybe 2 people camping it. On that note, Lavender Beds is probably the best looking housing area if you're not really into beaches and shit. I would move there if my airships would come with me, but ALAS. good luck on your housing! I hope you get one!

As for catching up you can either get a full 220 set crafted or blow some esos you'll get thrown at you if you just do your daily roulettes and such. Otherwise, the 220 gear should tank even more in price now that they're not specialist locked. You can also do Alex Midas but I don't remember what the ilvl requirement was.

I'll bite. After the changes to crit in 3.0 making it objectively the best stat for most jobs, why would crit be bad for WHM? Affects your direct heals, regen ticks, and DPS. Spell speed is shorter(and minimal) cast time changes(Which means fuck all in a game where precasting is key) and a equivalent of Det increase to your HoTs.
