Anyone know what kinds of CC take up the most resources?
When I take out furniture, it loads a lot faster, but I'm not sure which furniture to target first.

I dunno. I maxed out my settings in the card settings. Only difference I could see between lowest to highest was in the background. Distant objects were less burly compared to closer objects.

I would attempt pick at the over-clocking settings, but when my brother made me this computer he told me not to mess with those settings.

I genuinely like the SimGurus (Modsquad and Engi have really saved my ass by helping me with a couple of mods I've made), but goddamn if EA isn't nickel-and-diming the shit out of this game.

If I bought TS4, its expansions and the Stuff Pack bundles in a store, it would run me about $300 dollarydoos.

Every time I think about buying the game legit, I remember that the money could go towards buying a pinball machine. If they would knock off at least 10 bucks on any given pack, they'd be impulse purchases. Maybe the next one will be good. I hope we get an EP this year. Get to Work wasn't that bad. It added a life state, active careers, and plenty of other things.

The problem with Get Together was it was basically just a big GP. They added dance moves and clothes/hair.

Personally, I can think of at least a half-dozen full expansion ideas that I would like to see before Supernatural or Pets including both previous stuff brought back as well as whole new improvements to the franchise but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm actually fine with - hell, I'd go so far as to say I'd even like - some sort of pet content (they're a big part of many people's lives so it would feel weird not to have them at all) but I think it could easily be handled as a GP at this point rather than a full expansion. Throw in a few each types of dogs and cats, a couple handfuls worth of new items, a few new interactions and maybe a new skill or two and maybe a gerbil cage and a fish tank and I think they have a good base until they flesh out parts of the game that more desperately need attention.

After we get Go to School, a new Generations, a new Seasons, something downtown themed (with map sizes that aren't a fucking travesty), and maybe a couple of original ideas then they can start putting out expansions dedicated to building your own horse academy or making your dog a pet actor or whatever.

If it includes the ability to make worlds of larger sizes - at least Sims 2 size but ideally Sims 3 size or larger (every block is it's own instance now, why the fuck would they make the overall world smaller when they have the option to go the exact opposite direction?) - then it's at the top of my list.

Even if not a create-a-world tool would be pretty high ranking on the list of things they should add.

Well, TS3 with max settings, all expansions, as well as a ton of massively CPU-intensive scripting mods (such as NRAAS story progression) was pretty rough on even decent rigs... about 3 years ago. There's a v-sync issue that could fry your rig, but there is a TS3 booter on the old TS3 g-drive website that takes care of that.

Today, even a fairly middling rig (even modern integrated GPUs aren't that terrible) can run it fairly well. TS4's better optimized, to be sure, but there's much, much, much less material to play around with.

That being said... is there anything new to do in TS4? I haven't touched it since synchronized dancing stuff.

Its simple enough once you understand minimaps. It was a little harder on me because I used GIMP 2 to do all my retextures, and I had to deal with plug-ins. If you have any experience in Photoshop you'll probably have an easier time export/saving textures.

Basically all you do is open up Sims 4 Studios, create new mesh, pick out the base game mesh you want, it exports it and brings it up in S4S. There you just export the textures and slap the image you want on the posters.

If it gives you to much grief I'd gladly do it for you. Just give me your resource images.
