Not really but SCHs are expected to DPS all because of the fairy being the main healer and not the SCH themself.
Bad DPS is really frowned upon. Even in DF people will either complain or be passive aggressive if the run is going too slow because of bad DPS.

I've never actually bothered staying up for a patch, what's the best way to make sure I get in to get a house right when the game is up? If I stay on the "The game is unavailable for playing during maintenance" on the launcher, will it highlight as soon as it's back up and the patch is downloaded?

Honestly it all hinges on the stats at this point. The Red Scrip crafting gear had a higher ilv but the crafted gear had higher caps if you melded them. I expect it to be the same way this time around as well

Carbonweave is i170 so my guess is that it condenses all of the BiS gear we had prior to 3.3 into one set. The way things were, the i180 scrip gear beat NQ i170 crafted sets in terms of stats, but lost out to fully melded HQ i170.

My guess is that it's going to be a similar deal in 3.3 where fully melded i190 Ironworks beats augmented i200 scrip gear.

Honestly I feel that was an oversight by SE. They made a few like listing the new cost for DoH scrip gear as requiring gathering tokens. It makes sense to me that Carbonweave is i170 whereas Ironworks is that augmented set they stated based on the materials that are required to craft each set.
