Aerondight has no rune slots, no crowd control effects, no armor pierce. It's a sub par sword, I only use it because it looks cool.

To that effect I use relic quality toussaint knight sword as my steel. It's got a basket hilt, sharpened hooks, large pommel you can hammer nails with and overall reminds me of Letho's zweihander

I was disappointed that you couldn't actually make a vineyard of it, though. Wish that would have been the last, most expensive thing. To jumpstart the actual farm. Probably not realistic, but we're talking about The Witcher here.

I feel like it would have been cool if this game had some sort of timed income (that can't be manipulated by meditating, of course) like Fable or even Vice City had. Selling wine or letting us buy property would have been a good fit. Though not at all Witcher-like, it would have worked for this expansion as it's obvious Geralt is settling down some now that he has a home.

Just got through Blood & Wine using the Fairytale Bookland path.

I know Orianna is involved in the other path, along with an Elder Vampire. Hated Orianna's attitude, and I generally would like to kill as many vampires as possible (except Regis, who kicked his blood addiction). Is there any way to kill Orianna? To kill the Unseen Elder?

I honestly like it. It has amazing animation work and I can't really spot a glaring flaw. If anything I'd say monsters have too little moves in their moveset and combat is kinda too easy because they're too predictable, but otherwise I don't really have anything to point out.

Most enemies re-generate stamina too slowly and have been given tons of health to compensate. If they pumped up the stamina, they would give the creatures more chances to maneuver and follow-up on their attacks, which would up the ante a bit.

I know there's a thrust move, which makes it even more annoying when Geralt takes a huge spin when he should just swing or stab from where he's standing. Spinning is a good trick but you have to commit to it for it to be good.

I tried a strong attack build, and it got interrupted all the damn time. Got tired of waiting for openings and doing less DPS overall, and went back to fast attack spam + alchemy.

My only complaint about B&W is that the main quest wasn't just a few sections longer solely focus on vampire law or society. I feel like the UE area is very intriguing and should have been mandatory in some way. Also would have been cool if you found out that the majority of the court was made up of Vamps and they actually ran the city or something.

I find with that it becomes more a matter of exploiting the game rather than actually playing it, if that makes sense. Say with dark souls, you know the combat system is very predictable and rigid so it's very much just your skill. But in the witcher there's way more RNG, especially with bombs/crossbow autoaim. I don't hate it, but I don't really play on deathmarch for the challenge, it's just that playing on anything else is too easy.

elder scrolls combat and movement in general is just laughably bad. You couldn't pay me to play those games.

This is so true, I'd barely even gotten out of White Orchard on a lower difficulty before I had to turn it up.
I like the combat, but it does tend to be repetitive as hell. And some builds are just objectively better than others.
Also whirl is crazy overpowered.

I will say that the B&W mutations system seem to open more possibilities for alternative playstyles.
For my NG+ run I'm planning on using Cat Eyes and using cbow as much as possible.

Get Ursine and put Levity runeword in it. Less attack power than Feline but loads of adrenaline and damage reduction. I think even the Grandmaster Ursine looks awesome (blue dye on chest piece, no dye on the rest), just too goddamn hot for Toussaint.

Well geralt doesn't scale as well when game goes on. Vitality bonuses peter out around 5000, and level 50 sword isn't that much more powerful than a level 30 one. Monsters get progressively more HP and more damage, even without the multipliers.

It is designed for around level 30 though, unless they changed it.

For what fucking reason could my Witcher 3 be so goddamned finicky? This is fucking infuriating. To my knowledge I've never experienced this instability with any other game.

Last night, the day before, and the day before that, I played Witcher 3 at a steady 52-60 frames per second with 57-60 being the norm in most locations and 52 being basically the absolute lowest.

Now I start up the game no more than 16 hours later and have a steady FPS in the mid 30s. It won't go higher. This is in Novigrad, which I've been running around at all different times, in different weathers, for the past 72~ hours, with an FPS that never once dropped below 50 AT LEAST.

Same system environment, the same setting in-game, the same save file, the same game settings.

On a 970 with an i7 4790k and 16 gigs ram.

WHY????
