I'm fairly new still, with only about 9 hours, but I'm stumped here. How do we possibly get passed this?

It's a Reinhardt blocking two Bastions that are spraying at the chokepoint.

Twice I managed to sneak around them with my teleporting, but somehow one Bastion always would see me and kill me before I could regain control.

A good pharah can destroy any defense relying on stationary turrets and her only counters are long range sniper characters which are very hard to come by in lower mmr.

This is mostly for competitive concerns since I'm usually a spirited player in that regard.

I really enjoy Mercy as a main in OW as it is now, but in competitive play, be it PUGs or organized customs, is it likely Mercy will be relegated to the primary "caller" that decides pushes or retreats?

I'm just really poor in that area and it's why I could just not play Medic in comp TF2.

Yeah, the pocket soldier was our caller, he could always make split second decisions and just say "I'm jumping!" when bombing a guy rather than me (the medic) saying "jump that guy now!" I mostly did reactionary stuff, like pointing out things he didn't see, "A scout got past us" or whatever.

But he barely had to think about aiming and all that, he could read the map and make calls while getting airshots, it was second nature to him.

Why the fuck do people say Tracer does no damage?

It takes one second for her to empty her weapons, and another second to reload. At 15 meters, a full spray aimed to the head will kill a 200HP class. At 10 meters, a full spray to the body will also kill. Anything closer than that just makes it easier. For comparison, Reaper needs 6 shots to kill at 15 meters and 3 to kill at 10 meters.

Yeah, tracking people with such fast weapons especially on somebody who zips so much as Tracer is pretty fucking difficult, but the tools for her to do it are there. That's why she's a high skillcap hero, but saying she does no damage is retarded.

Kill anyone with low life near instantly, Winston is an assassin basically. You move around the backline tearing them up and simply jumping away when you come under danger yourself. Only fire rockets at long range on stationary targets.
Use your concussive blast for mobility unless you know you can get an easy environmental kill or bounce someone out of position for a direct hit rocket.
Only use your ult while mid-air if you've successfully flanked or the enemy is engaged with the rest of your team.

Probably the most important thing is knowing when to give up on playing Pharah and switch to a more effective hero for the particular objective.

There's a hidden MMR stat that's used to match players. Exactly what the algorithm is is anyone's guess, but it works well enough to ensure that the ingame stats aren't indicative of much at all; somebody with a 50% win rate against low MMR shitters will look about the same on the career profile as somebody banging their head against the wall in the tryhard tiers. You really notice it when you stack up, and the algorithm has no idea what to do with you. I swear playing with one friend of mine (who barely ever plays) gets me matched against literal retards, it's hilarious.

I do that pretty much every game as Mei. Why is it surprising? Mei sits on the point so she gets objective time and objective kills. People have to get rid of her so they get close and she damages them, then any time they die she gets an elimination. Her ult generations eliminations as well.

If you're not 3 gold, 4 medals total (or 4 gold, 5 medals total) every game as Mei, you're playing bad. It's got nothing to do with the rest of your team. She's capable of some nice damage output due to her survivability headshotting tanks all day.
