I have spent just under 20 hours in the past three days PvPing in DS1.

Anybody who actually enjoys PvP in any of the souls games besides Dark Souls III and Bloodborne are simply shitterblasted nostalgic fools that have invested hundreds of hours into mastering techniques only possible with the assistance of a netcode that is so intrinsically flawed it makes normal players with more than 200ms appear to be hacking. These people are literally incapable of playing games that do not have broken-beyond-repair netcodes where players are capable of being in two contradictory positions at once. (See: Two players backstabbing each other at the same time.)

DS3 PvP, objectively speaking, has a lower skill ceiling because of the absence of such retarded mechanics, but it, alongside Bloodborne, are truly the only Souls games with consistently functioning online play.

DS1's greatest qualities lie in its PvE replayability. There is no reason to participate in online play in it.

What is going on with the renders on the far left and far right? I've never seen these before, and the sword isn't anything I've seen in the game. Seems odd that Soul of cinder appears to be wielding it. The armour details also look different.

I've had a few hornet ring invaders that only roll around and parry. They can't do anything else, it's the most boring and long fights I have to deal with as a pissbro. They even try to parry my UGS. If they read a parry of yours then you eat a full WA. You always get roll caught after getting hit twice. They always stay a little ahead of your max range and attack when your move finishes.

Does anyone else use the prisoner's chain? I was expecting to take a lot more damage, but I'm not seeing any obvious difference after putting it on.

I think the absorption decrease is mitigated by being able to use that bonus 5 vit to wear better armor. This ring is god tier, can't wait to get the ring of favor to increase the bonuses.

Also, opinions on the cathedral ugs? It gets an A dex scaling with a charp infusion, and the strike damage in tempting, but I'd need to get 26 str just to use it. Dex pyro by the way.

What is the best possible 120 Carthus Curved Sword build you can think of?

I just started out ds3 and got the uchigatana off some hobo. Should i put fire on it and never level dex/str over 11/16? It goes down to 33 bleed so i guess it would need 4 hits to proc it, but im assuming any bleed resist on the mob would mean i need 4 hits anyway.

Any straight sword is good. Longsword/Broadsword should already be available, and you can farm the Dark Sword from Darkwraiths later on.

Always keep them. Never sell anything unless you know you can get an unlimited supply of it later on.

The souls you get from selling are absolutely not worth it anyway. Only reason to do so is to clear out space in your inventory.

The people you're fighting must have no idea how to manage stamina. Blocking with a greatshield costs less stamina than the attacks your opponent uses, so you're at an inherent advantage.

If you're just interested in doing PvE or fighting invaders with summoned help, you can pick any weapon you like the look of and upgrade it. Try out different weapons to see what movesets you like. I'm currently running the game for a fifth time using Harpe, which is probably one of the worst weapons in the game, and I'm already halfway through. It's harder, but you really can finish the game with pretty much any weapon if you're willing to tough it out. Some guy even beat the game with his bare fists recently.

If you want to get involved in a lot of PvP, there's definitely weapons that will make your life easier, and it's worth looking into on Google or asking in the thread.

Split damage on a weapon (Phys + elemental) is almost always a sign the weapon will do much less than it advertises. You'll be checking your damage versus two sets of enemy resists, not just one, and you'll find yourself doing pitiful damage. Sadly makes some weapons challenge only options.
