Oh, another thing I forgot to mention about ArcanaRO is that everyone starts with 1 emperium. This may be a flaw or bonus depending on your viewpoint. Also there are mounts for all classes that everyone starts with.

I play on iRO Chaos, the official server.

Let's say the playerbase is a fucking mess. It seems like 90% of the people I play with lacks a brain or have a few extra chromosomes. Most of them only think about themselves and once they're done with their kill counts, they don't mind throwing you under the bus.

I'm sure around 60% of the server are Filipinos and 30% are South Americans, leaving the remaining 10% to actual native English speaking players. If you think BR's are bad in MMO's you haven't seen the shit South American players pull in this game. At least 50% of the Filipino population aren't mouthbreathers.

Couple that with modern MMO design 'kill x monster xx times', people just look at guides where to level, go to the place, solo em or party to speed things up a bit. Most casuals today absolutely hate it. I remember our old guildies magically got together in a classic p.server (we were around 40, and it was 10 years after we more or less all quit, the power of facebook), we farmed up and started playing WoE oldschool style. We singlehandedly killed the WoE as the competition just stopped playing because all the guilds were mostly shitters monks wanting to asura spam with free consumables, so they couldn't break through.

The tears on the forums were absolutely amazing.

It 'rebalanced' the areas and exp system so that you get dimishing returns from enemies outside your level range. That means no more clever strategies to kill high level mobs and no more grinding on low-level enemies for some relaxed exp.

Both servers had almost the same population even until several months to a year after Leika was officially released. People started noticing Nova when they added that custom Monster Hunter thingy and mass update from rAthena. Meanwhile on Leika the main dev was MIA after several months the server started. As for stats, you can go str>agi>dex>vit for leveling. Assuming you have decent gears. For end game stats, that's depends on what build you want to be, support or attacker.

No, just in 2014 or so they integrated a master account system. You make a forum account and every game account you own is tied to it, if you make another forum account you get insta-banned. It's a decent system as-is.

As a result though everybody had to manually attach their accounts, as I haven't played tRO in 4 years or so the GM team has to do it. I had a whole support ticket of him saying that I could be a friend of the owner, or photoshopped a screenshot or remade a deleted e-mail address to gain access to it, so it'd be too risky to give me my stuff back.

I'm put in a position where if I push it and ask again I'll get banned or if I drop it, I lose literally billions of zeny and have to start from scratch, on a server where the GM may or may not have it out for me. Just a really confusing situation and funnily enough after a decade of playing RO, the first time it's happened.

I like how ragnarok handles soloing, similar to how maplestory handled soloing (mostly)
Each class has their own niche group of mobs or enemy types they can easily solo, but soloing them is less effective than doing it in parties, if the class/character can solo more than one niche, they're taxed with a gold-sink that they have to fulfill to solo successfully.

This allows you to smack around shit on your own if you're busy and want to hit things every 5 minutes or if you just feel like taking it easy and slow, but if a game punishes you for playing in a party and makes it super good to solo everything, why even bother making it an MMO?
