I didn't really feel a need for prep for Dettlaff. His first form is just parrying in time and doing that three times. Second form is mostly dodging that fucking stupid bat attack that can one shot you. Third one is rolling around a lot while you hit the hearts.

TW3 is a great ARPG and has a great atmosphere but it is a very weak RPG. I'm kind of disappointed that your decisions are so limited and usually boil down to "Kill X or Spare X" and often it doesn't even matter what you choose, you get the same response from the AI anyways. The RPG elements are really no better than Mass Effect 3 or something, its so linear. Does this change in the expansions?

Anyone else getting pretty bad FPS drops from this patch, both in Toussaint and in the old areas? Generally I think I've lost like 15 FPS, but ontop of that it drops to fucking 35 for a second quite often, especially when I run around in anything even resembling a settlement, though it happens outside of them aswell. I thought this patch was supposed to increase performance or atleast fidelity (something about foilage) without costing any more FPS, yet I'm getting the absolute opposite.

ok so I played through b&w since the castle assault quest so that syanna would die and dettlaff would win. after prison I found out who was supposed to be the 5th victim and went drinking with regis instead of to henrietta. now I found her in palace, and can't confront her with the evidence. It could be that assuming the shitty performance was consistent and I saw some unusual temperatures, but this summer hasn't really made my GPU or CPU run any more than 3 - 5 degrees celcius hotter, still within what counts as "normal temp". The FPS drops still happen inconsistently (still often) and don't change at all depending on my video settings. HBAO+ on or off? No diffrence. best ending is actually both Syanna and Anna Henrietta dead (Syanna kills Anna and Damien kills Syanna), and Detlaff is killed.

It is gives the most touching scene and sets the most realistic, grey-area atmosphere, you get pretty much the best characterization with this path as well

In what people here are calling Shrekland, you can happen upon a campfire with a sword in it. You obviously can't see the sword since it is pitch black in the save; but you can see the press button to light fire. As soon as you do this, it causes Geralt to kneel like in Dark Souls and the sword can be taken from the fire. It is pretty damn good, but lacks any armor pen.

No, during the attack. When it comes under attack you can either go find Damien's squad or go to find Orianna. You can actually do both since the quest doesn't end immediately. So I just did Damien and ran off to Orianna. Then did her subquest, and picked which option (Shrekland or Vampire) I wanted to do.
