The game you can see through the cracks looks pretty good. There are just a lot of bugs right now that need to be ironed out. Hopefully within the week but who knows how long it will take really.

I still like to play TLD and I rarely if ever see people commenting about it. That mod truly is an upgrade to vanilla in every sense of the term.

Being able to buy and sell shit at any castle is a godsend. And if you don't like a setting, they list dozens of them in the camp menu that you can turn off at your leisure.

did you know that if you have a weapon with enough reach, and youve sniped down most of the enemy archers, you can walk up the ladder/ramp and just chop guys over and over if you shimmy close to them to hit then shimmy back to not get hit by any counterattacks

yeah, here, they're mackie models which are usually pretty good
there's all those guns too but for some reason all but two (pistol and blunderbus) are too long so the muzzle flash and smoke doesn't appear

It was PoP, so there was only a single ladder as is customary, and I have 9 powerdraw and a rune bow. About half of the defending troops were my own. I play at full damage difficulties, and normal combat whatevers. I was on a wall outcrop type thing that set me 90 degrees off the side of the ladder so I mlg headshooted about a gorillion plate knights and had to steal quivers from the rare dead friendly archer.

At least I got a bunch of lords as prisoners, not enough to stop this two front war though

Gekokujo is pretty simple There's infantry, ranged and cavalry. Both are available as noble and common. Only difference between factions is that each faction only gets the last tier for three out of the six possible combinations. pic related
1257 on the other hand has a lot of troop types, but if you choose lance recruitment, you always get an average mix of all types and don't have to put much though into it.

Posted a few days ago about a minimod I made for ACOK. Been adding stuff since then and learned I absolutely love making custom units. Started doing this because I felt Cuckzur is doing a really lackluster job with one of my most favorite universes.

The upstab anon posted about adding slings and upstab, were you successful?

Anyway, changes so far:

>most free cities will have a minority of citizen troops, bulk of their armies will be sellsword units I made
>sellsword companies will vary from city to city as they would hire different companies (Long Lances, Mantarys troops, Company of the Rose, etc), Unsullied (uncapturable variety) will support Qohor and Pentos
>general cosmetic changes: Westerlands get their kettle hats back, Essos troops less retarded, Stormlands no longer wear turd armor, Dornish look less like Sarranids
>new bandit groups with new units, some larger hordes to face in the late game
>some bandit groups will have a boss type unit leading them (usually uncapturable)
>faction supporting bandit spawns (Crannogmen, Brave Companions, the Brotherhood Without Banners)
>throwing weapons are viable: provide bonus against shields, require no power throw to use

it's different, sea battles are more annoying because it's more efficient to board than to sink the other ship, since you're more likely to get sunk the longer you're in a fight and repairs are expensive
not to mention you can lose all the cargo and ships sell for a bunch

When it was just Caribbean, those patches were less for fixing the game and more for adding in new, much needed things, like sea sieges. Blood & Gold has some problems that desperately need a bug patch to fix. Some people on Steam and in this thread have been forced to the end of the worst waifu's questline without ever meeting the girl.

7fps is the stutter I mentioned when taking screenshots in towns. The 30fps is just me running a large battle size with maxed graphics. If I turn it down to 200/250 it's pretty much always 60. That's not saying much though, I'm running an i7 4790k with a GTX960 so I expect much better.

Dwarf Blunderbuss, Blunderbuss, there's a Runic one too. Haven't seen others but I'm sure they're out there. Ratling Gunners now function like a sorta-shotgun, which -kinda- makes sense if they're trying to imitate the whole 'tide of bullets' thing. I mostly noticed it when I modded a nodachi to be used like a tachi. Named it the "Oni Tachi".
In particular the little animation when the character "replaces" the sword by doing a little spin with the blade. When it bugged the blade would have some kind of bizarre position then revert back to the end of the animation correctly.

If you're willing to deal with some wonkiness, the Star Wars Conquest mod for the original Mount and Blade can be fun.

The patched version of Diplomacy in the pastebin can be fun if you want improved vanilla. Gekonewer is fairly funny and playable enough.

Aside from that, Warsword Conquest might be playable after they get this first patch out. I gotta admit it's sad when a bug as huge as the backspace menu not working at all slips through because the mod makers are lazy asses who never use that menu.

I still remember back when the game was called WarRider, had only the vaegirs and swadians, each side had only one single line of troop upgrades and there was a storyline involving an undead King Harlaus (which is where the undead textures come from)

It's where the flintlock reload animation comes from as well, at one point they put the flintlock and 30 bullets inside a chest in Zendar for people to try out but later removed it.

The fastest way is to just run around recruiting and leveling up while doing tournaments and using that money to set up passive income in every city.
Hopefully by the end you'll have 100 dank warriors ready to pound some 300-man armies of shitters.
There's no real reason to ever do a lord's quest, unless you want to fight for that faction and own fiefdoms within that faction.

I've been beating up and releasing lords in PoP of both the cavshitters and the nordshitters but they are almost all still roughly neutral with me. It seems like I'm not getting any good relations after having done this about 50 times.

It's less of an issue of being able to beat them, and more about how tedious it is to do it while minimizing losses. I just want people to like me so I can conquer a city and start my own kingdom

ACOK troop trees are utter shit, with archers having higher stats than veteran archers, everyone having high power draw (including knights), pikemen having like 4 ironflesh and power attack and knights having 1 etc. This should be the first thing to change.
