CS is absurdly simple. The economy is flowchart, if you're playing at a high level you use only a small percentage of available weapons, the gameplay is stodgy because you run into five or so choke points on two routes so you learn what to do at each one,and at some point it's just a twitch shooter where you try to jump past a corner and get a head shot before somebody head shots you. The games are usually two minutes long and they almost never have remarkable conclusions.

Mercy and Lucio probably heal about equally overall. Lucio is spread out to the whole team and he brings the speed boost utility. Zen can afk heal by plopping orbs on people which allows him to snipe. But Lucio can also afk heal the whole team. Mercy has the best single target, but Lucio can challenge her for total healing given that his effects so many people at once.
IIRC the supports were supposed to be something like Mercy is healing, Lucio is mobility, Zen is damage, and Symm is defense. But Zen got nerfed, and Lucio is able to heal while still attacking.
So now Lucio has good healing, great mobility, and decent damage, making him the most rounded of the supports. Who you end up preferring is still going to be down to your personal playstyle, however.

I agree with you. I felt like all of the times I got killed by Hanzo it was complete dumb luck or bullshit. So I played him for a day and found I could actually do a lot with him, and kept playing him. I can now lead people really well and am more comfortable at close range than I am at long. I'm up to a 72% winrate with him.

I just don't know when he's a bad choice, except when it's really obvious, like 2 phara + reaper + genji or something.

Don't play support if your team doesn't have characters who work with the group and push like Soldier 76, Zarya, or Reinhardt. If you have a bunch of people playing snipers and harassers like Tracer or Genji just pick McCree and try to get kills, pick 76 and try to carry your team, or leave the game. Pharah is also helpful if you're playing mercy because damage boosting her makes her rockets one hit kill a lot of characters.

I understand having tournaments, I don't understand running tournaments all day and burning the community out the way that Starcraft 2 did. For a little while it was possible to watch SC2 tournaments 24/7, literally, and live. A few months after this was commonplace the game completely died.
