The model hasn't really changed a whole lot. Her looking shitty is largely due to her textures, normal map, and whatever the one that deforms their face when they speak is called.

CDPR reused some of E3 Triss' freckles on Cerys, so I was able to lift a bunch of them. I may be able to closely approximate the eyebrows using some Blood & Wine characters since none of the base game characters seem to have them. I can change the color and texture of her lips with the diffuse/ambient/normal maps if another character has similar lips to E3 Triss.

It's a wild guess, but looking at the SoD, E3 demo, and whatnot, it looks like they lost some of the graphical assets soon before the release (after E3, or just before it).

Some of the downgrade is excused by consoles, but there's a lot of missing/misused assets, like textures and models. Perhaps there was some data loss and they had to quickly rebuild stuff from what scraps they have.

Emhyr's plan was all along to breed with Pavetta - Ciri's mom, and later kidnap Ciri into Nilfgaard and rape Ciri, so she could give birth to a prophetized ruler of half of the world.

Also, there's a fake Ciri sitting on the Nilfgaardian throne after the books, and no one, aside from Geralt, knew Emhyr is Ciri's father. So the fact Emhyr isn't even trying to hide it from others is retarded. Saying bluntly that Ciri is Ciri in front of Nobility, would cause the entire Cintra to rise against Emhyr and do anything to protect Ciri and kill the fake Cirilla on the throne.

Not mentioning the queen of Nilfgaard - Fake Cirilla, in the game is stupid as well. But there's a shit ton of other inconsistencies. The first one cames in the first dialogue in the prologue "Yen never was at Kaer Mohren." Yen was in Kaer Mohren many times, and she knew Eskel.

The fact it's omitted in the game is fucking retarded. Also, Avallac'h was Eredin's ally in the books, and he wanted to just impregnate Ciri mechanically, and then cut off her womb and leave her to die.

If you at least try every sign once you'll find out what works, stick to it and beat the Toad easily.

You should have used Axii to slow/stun him for a bit. Then hit with fast strikes, and roll to a safe distance when he's about to recover. Rinse and repeat.

Quen is good for protecting yourself but you really should focus on doing damage or else you're going to be running around forever. Igni doesn't really do shit if the Toad is going to get a chance to hit you right after you cast it. The issues is that you always have to be close to cast Igni on the Toad, and that thing is constantly trying to smash you.

Use Axii, but maintain a distance, always.

Regardless, the normal mapping on Triss in the vanilla game is horrifying, while every image of her pre-release appearance is not. The way her face deforms clearly went through some changes as well, and that's pretty frightening stuff.

Interesting to note that her normal map is significantly rougher than any other major female character, and whatever the deformation one is called is twice the resolution of everyone elses, so I guess it's a pre-downgrade asset.
