Being extremely dependent in someone can be a good thing, take you out of depression and what not, but it's always a temporary thing and you should be aware of that. The best thing to do is always to control the amount of dependence you have with everyone, if you start considering suicide without the person in your life, you should really start to focus on other stuff and begin trying to put the person in second place. I've had some ideas but nothing completely solid.

I would like to see a VN focusing on post-high school relationships. Doesn't even have to be related to disabled girls or anything, I just think it's an unexplored area in some visual novels.

However, creating a VN is such a mountainous task, this might fall on its face before it gets anywhere. I have to start some place though.

You've probably heard it all and people like me talking probably won't change anything, but I think you're worth trying anyway. You're the only one capable of holding you back, anon, if you want to be happier or even not feel like shit everyday, you need start with your inside. Find something you love, it doesn't need to be something important, it's even better if it isn't and dedicate yourself to it. Try new things: you never know if you don't love hiking if you never tried it out. Like the other anon said, my depression, or what it remains of it, is just part of who I am. If I took that out, I wouldn't be me anymore, would probably be more well adjusted socially and probably more happy, but it would change me too much, I would probably not do it.

I think, although I'm not sure, I have lots of potential in life, to find really lasting happiness and comfort in others and on what I do with my life. I'm just not there yet. Hey! I feel like I'm talking to myself. Nausea is horrible dude. I made the same choice, but out of desperation I ended up asking my psychiatrist for some new meds a couple of days ago. She just said to wait a bit before making that decision, and she was probably right, heh.

I have, dude. I've done everything. I've been to the doctors, I've met people, I've travelled, I've worked different jobs.. That's my problem; nothing has worked. It's been years and years and years, and nothing has worked. It just keeps coming back.

I have motivation, I make music, write, and design art, which by all means is doing pretty well - I've sold quite a lot of my own self-releases and even toured - but... it doesn't change anything.

If it keeps coming back, then find the moments when you keep your mind out of this, and make your life full of those moments.

Also, maybe set some goals, at least it'll give you something to do while you wait for death. Make a certain amount of money you want to earn, something you want to have, just to pass time while you don't die.

It seems you were just avoiding your feelings with that tour and not confronting them and that is something you will have to deal with. Finding happiness in others and the stuff you do is half the job done, but you'll never be truly satisfied until you can be happy with yourself. That can mean your body (if you're out of shape, PLEASE at least try working out, it can really improve your life more than you think) or more importantly your feelings and expectations. Can you be happy with what you have? With your current friends and family and job prospects? If so, what is holding you back? You need to face changes on how you see your own life and that is a job you'll have to do alone. I know sometimes life just seems void and the feeling of uselessness just get the better of us, but the feeling doesn't help shit and will only hurt you and you need to acknowledge it. Try to find something to let your feelings out, something that will make you feel less miserable when you're on your darkest times.

Very interesting, especially so given the other opinions in the thread. Reason I asked is because I feel I'm doing just that; I'm terrified of having to speak, so I just choose to sit around and disintegrate even though I know that the gateway to living life is past a million painfully forced, awkward conversations and confused stares.

I've been seeing a psychologist for the past year or so, and I really don't know. I'm below my starting point by a fair margin, and I'm absolutely lost (albeit, my past choices ensured there was no way out; at least the landing wasn't as bad as it could have been). Really, I have to figure my life out, and the prospect is frightening. But if I don't figure it out, this will only get worse until I finally off myself. I've stood on the edge before, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. But hey, not self-medicating just yet. I hope it won't get too much worse, I can still smile sometimes.

Not him, but this is golden advice. You have any ideas on how to make this happen for someone who's anxious around others? I could only keep a routine for a month max when I tried my hardest. Usually after 20-30 mins I get anxious enough to be badly nauseated, so I must leave. Drugs aside, they don't work. Problem is, I live in a city, and there is no time that I can go to the gym when it's not crowded. If you can give some advice/help/etc, I'd be real grateful.

Try classes, thats the only way I can gym as the focus is on the instructor and if the class is good, on not passing out. Try to find a fairly small more specialist gym, boxing based fitness training (not just standard boxing clubs) is fairly good as everyones focused
