The way GoA paints it, the Rounds are the ones who quest and do all the nobility shit exclusively. Saber Alter, Lancer Alter, Jeanne Alter, Cu Alter, and Archer/Avenger Herc in SF is, guess what, corrupted by grail mud which changes his personality, abilities and presumably appearance. I don't see how losing divinity somehow stops him from being an Alter, all the Alters lose skills.

They also mention his personality before the change and he was a heroic and great dude who was going to kill himself three times over rather then having to take out an innocent or survive on harvested lives, and post change he's totally fine with it and goes out of his way to snipe masters. He's Herc Alter.

Within the group of those three Kings, IH is unique because it's not based around possessions, but the bonds a king shares with his people.

The rationale behind it is that Iskander's bonds with his troops and the friendships he made even with enemies and the shared experiences he had fighting on the front lines with them personally made them eternally loyal after death, and it's pushed very heavily that Iskander is the only general in history to have his units trust to that extent. He's unique even in normal history for his conquests and style.

He's not the only person ever to have a good relationship but he didn't have just a good relationship. He massacred peoples and took their warriors in as friends who became his most trusted allies, the guy was ridiculous. Giving that kind of NP to just any commander ever because muh command just screams 'I have no originality'.
