While I will admit that Mass Effect is guilty of it, I dont think Dragon Age (Origins anyway, only one I played) is very guilty of it. Most of the reason things arent happening in that game is because of political gridlock or because peasants are trying to get things done.

Admittedly, you are certainly more powerful than pretty much everyone else but you have a posse of like ten other people that are clawing at your bootheels in skill level. They also do an ok job of showing that people know youre a force to be reckoned with in their reactions.

The main thing that bothers me in Fallout is that they make almost no effort to hide this fact, especially in 4. Like when you get everyone back to Sanctuary and Sturges asks you to build beds. If you ask him why he just says 'You asked if you could help, get to it.'

If you don't then they will never get built. You literally have to build everything for everyone and kill any threat that comes along.

Then there's all the quest lines. Like when Preston says 'You lead the Minutemen cause I'm an incompetent shit' after knowing you for literally less than a day and no matter how many settlements you have you, the fucking General, have to go clear out paths for new ones. The whole of the Minutemen in general is just a bunch of needy shits that can't fight for themselves.

The BoS line didn't bother me too much because at least there was some justification in there with Danse sponsoring you and all that.

The Railroad was in the middle somewhere. You go from a nobody to a top trusted agent almost overnight.

It does get kind of annoying that nothing at all gets done if you're not the one doing it sometimes, especially if it's something you've done before.

A friend of mine was talking about it and he built up the Deathclaw as this force of Death that would rip you to shreds. I was tense as I approached and there was all the wood cracking and shit as he was moving around above and I was wondering if he would break through the floor and jump me.

To be honest, Fallout 4 is the least guilty of this out of all the Fallout games.

The BoS for example send tons of patrols all over The Commwealth and generally fuck shit up with their PA soldiers, even if their veritbirds are like paper due to a bug.

Hell, I've even run into a number of random encounters were I see Minutemen fighting raiders, robots, or gunners, and generally kicking their ass.

Not to mention theres a few places were we see synths fucking shit up quite well.

And all of this is before you do shit for anyone.

compare that to Fo3 or NV, where everyone JUST sits around with their thumb up their ass and does nothing ever, and Fallout 4 has probably done the most to lessen that effect then any game in the series previously.

The issue isn't necessarily the patrols though, it's that they have no true impact on the game. The Minutemen will never go and help gain the trust of a new settlement, you have to.

The more I think about it, the main part of this issue revolves around the Minutemen and how they're presented. The BoS has patrols around that you can see and it's implied that they have people out there doing what you can do for them in the radiant quests.

The Railroad is assumed to be trafficking synths whenever the chance arises, you just happened to help with the one, and still doing their weird secret society mumbo jumbo.

The Institute is assumed to still be doing what they do.

But the Minutemen don't even have patrols around. Their power never grows and the only person you see as a 'true' Minuteman is Preston and the Armory chick at the Castle. All the settlers and shit merely 'support' the Minutemen, whatever that means. They don't have a standing force, you're constantly called to defend outposts and if they successfully defend themselves it's cause of the turrets you literally built by hand and scavenged all the parts for, or damn near. They don't go help settlements to gain their trust. They just do nothing but tell you (their leader) what to do.

please, with a little tweaking the P90, AUG and Famas could look plenty '50's retro future', which is exactly what Bethseda's art direction is - the FN FAL can go in as is. Yet we can't even get a 1911, which ironically is on a cover of guns and bullets.

Someone on the art team has a hard on for 50's retrofuture and tripped too much damn acid in college and thought these abominations they call weapons were okay, even going so far as to retcon the chinese assault rifle, based on the AK, which is literally the most common military rifle on the planet, ever since the 50's.

Pipe pistols make for a good hobo phase gun, but there should have been more, every fucking raider in the commonwealth shouldn't be luggin around a gun made from a lead pipe, driftwood and barbed wire; held together by wonderglue and a prayer. Pipe weapons and all there 'mods' (half of which were completely useless and overlooked) were a mistake.

Not including the Chinese Assault Rifle doesn't mean they "retconned" it. They were making it but didn't get it finished and so it was cut. There's a model for it in the files and everything, which has been reworked and added as a mod.

of course they look like shit in the FO3 engine, everything looks like shit in FO3, but with some tweaking they could fit in with the 50's retrofuture artstyle plenty fine. In my opinion, every gun in that image would need some tweaking, but I'd like to see Bethseda actually work the weapons into the lore, like they did for the X-01, instead of hamfisting the pipe weapons and the abominations like the assault rifle.

2. Fallout 4 is not a rpg
Which is totally bullshit because you roleplay as the SS. You can be evil, good, selfish, heartless mercenary and etc, but NV still has more rp options than fallout 4. Fallout 4 has perk levels instead of skills. Fallout 4 has plenty of choices in the main quests and the side quests. In main quest you pick between 4 faction whoever you side with has an impact on the commonwealth i.e by patroling it and seeing their banners in Diamind city.

Same reason some people want to skip the part where you get DiMa's memories, it's fine the first time through, but on later playthroughs it's just tedious. Puzzles like those don't really have any replay value.

Everything that makes that technological society possible is gone. Massive loss of life and knowledge, loss of power and water infrastructure, loss of nationwide organization. The vertibirds in this game only need an overhaul because they are bugged and the leveled list doesn't spawn the level 30, 40, and 50 versions of vertibirds which have more HP, more armor, and higher damage on their guns.

Its a known and ocnfirmed bug, but no one knows why its broken.

Arthmoor has said even he looked at all the leveled list scripts for vertibirds and says they are all hooked up correctly, so even he cant figure out why the game refuses to spawn them.

Alright, here you go.
Now for the uniques to actually have their effects you HAVE to start a new game. This is unfortunately because uniques are script-constructed objects made at the start. You can use any number of console commands to skip stuff though, you're mainly looking to see if the effects work. Later updates will have a station that lets you attach the effects to a weapon.

However, these effects are actually legendary mods, so you can use console commands to spawn and attach said mods to existing weapons with the "amod" command. Included in the file are the list of the mod names and their form IDs.

I fail to see how that's a problem. Like, if you just don't want to do unique models that's fine but if we're talking about how feasible this is implement in general it's pretty easy. Virtually no different than in the old games even, it just means you're going to have to do ever slightly more work.

Say for instance, you want Righteous Authority to be BoS themed. Literally all you'd have to do is make a texture for the laser rifle that has a BoS emblem on it, make a new weapon entry as you would when making any new gun, and then copy the laser weaopon mods and stats over to the new entry give it the legendary effect, and make it use the new texture.

If you wanted to significantly alter the appearence of the weapon in such a way that the base mods won't fit, then all you have to do is do exactly the same thing but make new mods to fit the new weapon.

The only problem I see coming out of this is that the base laser weapon mods won't work on a legendary version so you'd have to craft new ones for it specifically. I'm sure there's some way around that with script work though.

Uninstall again and manually delete every remaining FO4-related folder. Including the Local AppData, the .inis in My Games, and of course your complete Fallout 4 folder in SteamApps/Common.
Then install fresh. And start with a fresh save.
Lose scripts within your existing savefiles might still fuck things up. There's no such thing as a "clean save".

You also might want to patch your fucking game, if you're running an ancient pirated copy.

well, I know this isn't the exact same engine as Skyrim (there have been updates and changes to the Game Byro engine), but we had horse mounts then.

If the concern is speed, I did some testing by virtue of abusing legendary modification and loaded up on sprinter's gear and found the came could handle some pretty fast speeds.

And if the concern is just geometries, my advice is to make is so that the player modifies a bike or car with Mr. Handy thrusters and whatever the hell eyebots use to float, a boom: hovering car/bike that could plausibly strafe and jump.

Not really, shit like MMM is often considered one of the worst mods for Fallout because its nothing but poorly textured creatures spammed to the point it causes save bloat.

OOOs only real selling point is the level scaling changes, the rest of it is often considered to be poorly designed feature creep.

Sandman primary is only useful in killing non essential NPC's in their home (in which you have the lock skill to open the door). However it's second use is increased damage of suppressed weapons is what it is truly chosen for, even level up just increases suppressed weapon damage further.

This is especially weird because New Vegas gave notes their own tab (forgot if Fallout 3 did too) and notes you had already read would be greyed out, and listed them in order of when you found it. Made it super easy to sort through and read new notes and holotapes.
No clue why Bethesda removed that. Bethesda seem to just fucking cut out everything that's a good idea I swear.

It seems just mildly complicated, but from what I can see, I like it. It would be amazing to have a whole slew of different reactions and outlooks from one faction based on your standing. For certain NPCs who aren't companions to like you more or less depending on the type of hero you are to them.

For example, Proctor Haylen and Cade will actually prefer you to be a sort of 'dark hero' by BoS standards, which actually would mean you're more a good-hearted white knight who would protect even a ghoul or synth if they didn't deserve to be killed.

Meanwhile, Maxson and Kells will only fully accept and promote you if you achieve idolization in the eyes of the BoS, which means basically killing Hancock, the Railroad, Danse, the Institute, Nick, purging The Slog, and Good Neighbor.

DogtoothCG has real talent, but for some reason he has this weird skewed code of ethics when it comes to the stuff he makes. He puts it in other people's hands and basically lets them take charge of it.

Like, when unoctium threw a fit and was going to take down the X-02 and Ranger armors, Dogtooth said if he chose to do it he wouldn't do anything about it for some dumb reason about it being a joint thing they did and since he uploaded them he had final say or something.

that's wrong though, you get many more choices in dialogue and how your character solves problems throughout the game based on your reputation with various factions

you also get discounts, extra weapon vendors, NCR gives you a radio, etc etc

Honestly, I can't believe someone actually believes the reputation system in fallout 4 is comparable to New Vegas. Sure, NV's system wasn't perfect, but it was miles better than 4's.

Also a big problem right now is whenever somebody says something positive about 4 the Obsidian fanboys' kneejerk reaction is to take that as a declaration that Fallout 4 is a 10/10 masterpiece and the pinnacle of the series.
