consumed kings boss fight is ridiculous on a caster.
Its easy on a low stamina cost melee where you can dodge a lot but casting is difficult.

I have such a short time frame for casting I need to be really precise.
The main problem I have though is I keep getting hit by his charge.

Do I rather side dodge it or through him? I never know when the hit connects. I find it difficult to read.

You have to delay your rolls pretty well at oceiros.

If I manage to dodge the charge of his I have a HUGE window for casting... Not so much if I have to Chug AND cast.

will try again now with carthus dodge ring thingie. I have beaten him multiple times melee easily and could probably do so at point blank casting.

I just try to mix things up with every playthrough and this one is all about distance.
The part that gets me is that I dont see any hint on when he strikes during his charge.
But I often have this with beast mobs/bosses in souls games.

Weapons and weapon-swings are so much more predictable and readable for me than some random beast arms/legs/tail

It seems to me like Bteam ran out of time to model and put the trees in or put any kinda atmosphere in, so they made the place a desolate grey quarry instead.

In Dark Souls 2 you had to avoid every enemy and rush your ass to Straid without weapon upgrades or spending any unnecessary soul.

In DaS1, You would have people begging to have end game gear, that they got on their 387s, muled down to their level 11s even after the bottomless box glitch was fixed.

In DaS2 on PC, people would just cheat and constantly revert their Soul Memory/saves. It became even easier once the Agape ring was a thing.

Even in /bbg/, you would constantly get level 43 people begging to be password-summon carried through the Orphan of Kos.

Obscuring Ring, Darkmoon Ring, and Darkmoon Blade are probably the only ones worth getting. The rest are either not bad, but forgettable. Or just straight up trash.

Kinda sad, there are so many interesting move sets and weapon in the game, but exlusively to mobs and enemies, and we do not get access to them. Pretty pissed actually.

- The one hand cleave/saw weapon from those undead in the settlement for example.
- Or the moveset of those warden hollows with their twinbaldes. I love their back-step swoop around move. I want that too!
- not to forget that super-flurry with the broken straightsword those hollows use in the tutorial level and other early game areas.
- even something as basic as the high-range thrust attack combo hit some of those lothric knights do with their 2h swords after some basic auto attacks.

I feel ripped.

I have never played Bloodborne but just looking at gameplay videos of makes me think it had WAY better weapon design with much more varied movesets and attacks.

DS3 feels like a downgrade regarding this only.

Hey so I've been computing the real value of Vitality so that people can stat it rationally.

Briefly, what I'm doing:
>For each armor set weight, I find the armor set with the maximum absorb.

I played through DS1 when I was a bit of an atheist edgefag at 16, and pretty much ignored faith for a muscle wizard build. the magic was completely underwhelming, with just stand still and hold R1 to raise staffa and shoot blue thing at people.

It works when you're above 99%. So you can still use it if you just take a bit of damage from someone with the Armor of Thorns rolling into you, but anything else will cancel it. Of course, blessed weapons can help with that a little bit.

The value of armor per-pound between 4.1 and 7.5 pounds is about +3.77% health per pound. If you're wearing less than 7.5 pounds of armor something is fucked with your character.

Between 7.5 and 17.4 it decreases to 1.56% health per pound. This is still pretty good and you should probably go up to 17.4 pounds of armor unless you are really scrounging for stats.

From 17.4 to 26.9 it decreases again to 0.7%, and past 26.9 it decreases again to 0.44%. At least for slash resist, it caps at 42.7 pounds.

Lets talk ULTRA GS
I am looking forward to use one for the first time.

Alright, it has be used on a STR build, thus heavy infusion.
With this info we can reduce the options down to ZWEI, Lothric knight GS, Cathedral knight GS or Greatsword.

I would already exclude the GS here because it has no Thrust attack.
Now the ZWEI has thrust attacks, but only one handed? The two handed doge attacks is thrusty but its going to be difficult to get precise counter attacks with that (leo ring) Also, it would required 11 dex soo.. exluded for now.

Cathedral and Lothric GS do have the same move 2H heavy thrust attacks which is already good. Though the Lothric GS has both 1H and 2H diagonal auto attacks which leaves the Cathedral one with a much superior moveset in the end. Especially that 2H vertical top to down slash followed by the uppercut catches many nerds.

Also, Cathedral does more damge (Not sue how this whole Lothic GS with Light resin works though).

CONCLUSION:
The Cathedral GS is the best UGS for a STR/HEAVY build.
Am I missing something here?
