Do you think the future Yokai Watch games will take place in other countries?

I'd love to see a game taking place in Mexico, imagine the slew of Day of The Dead themed Yokai! And you could easily do it to just say that Nate and his family are "going on vacation!"

However I wouldn't mind if we stayed in America for maybe one more game, I still need my Merican Classic Yokai based on cryptids and alien sightings.

We need more Japanese Classics too. I want my Futakuchi-Onna yokai already damn it!

I'd say yeah, play the first game.

Like the OP said, it's not a Pokemon killer. I feel like it's got a very similar feel to Megaman Battle Network or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, but it's only very superficially like the Pokemon main series games.

The anime is surprisingly funny. It helps that the show shoots for just straight-out comedy, with each episode just being a collection of shorts, the same sort of format as Dexter's Lab or something. The humor's tame, but it's good clean fun. Komasan's segments are far and away the best part of the show.

Alright, I'm fairly convinced on getting Yokai Watch now. Are there any tips or tricks for a noob to the game? Are there any Yokai I can miss because I defeated them and didn't befriend them? Any items like that? Quests, etc.? I don't want to put in a lot of time to the game and find out I can never get 100%. I know some games like Etrian Odyssey are like that, by not recording one-time only enemies if you didn't defeat them.

Any missable youkai that can be befriended can be found and befriended in ample supply in the postgame dungeon.

Befriending youkai can be a bitch and a half, though, because it's all up to the RNG. If you want to befriend a particular youkai, look up what food it likes and feed it the best available item in that category, carry a youkai like Shmoopie in your party that has Popularity, and draw out the battle as long as you can for wisps that might improve friendliness.

Otherwise, just pray.

here's a general guide.

While there aren't any missable yo-kai/fights/items, there are some recruitment that are easier to get early on rather than later. For instance, Snartle is a lot easier to fight in the 'Kyubi the Bully' Challenge. You should try befriending him (via crossing street red light to fight him) during that chapter or earlier, else you may have a rough time afterwards. In addition, some yokai are easier to befriend at the start of chapter 2 and painful to befriend later on. Noway in grass areas or Roughraff in alleyways are the notable 2 painful to recruit yokai, so try aiming for them.

There are two hidden bosses, but they're easy to find and fight for the most part if you're a 100% completionist of quests/exploration.

I just recently started watching the anime and boy it does have a certain charm. I downloaded the demo a while back and I gotta say, I had some mixed feelings.

I liked the exploration of the town and the hunt for bugs and yokai. That was fun.

I didn't like the battle system. With the randomness of the actions needed to be performed and the apparent lack of instruction as to what team to use, I decided against purchasing it.

Is there a way to fix the battle system so you don't have to constantly play with the stylus?

Ah I see what you mean. I just got to the Sproink boss at level ~12-14 and didn't have much trouble. I'm doing a lot of sidequests and collecting Yokai, and already 6 hours in. Man, befriending them is such a pain. It took me 20 tries to get RoughRaff and I'm at 15 tries for Noway.

I did get Komajiro in 2 tries, so I'm happily adding him to my team.

There have been many questions and theories about the chart shown in the how to play section. It shows positive, negative, and neutral interactions between tribes, but it does not show their significance. After extensive testing, here are my finds:

Aside from unities (+5% Stat bonus to your team for each Yo-Kai of the same tribe), the tribe of the Yo-Kai on your team has no effect on the team members' Attack, attack's damage, or Soultimate damage.

An attack from a Yo-Kai directed towards a Yo-Kai that has a disadvantageous matchup against it, such as a Shady Yo-Kai's attack on a Brave Yo-Kai, will deal 20% more damage.
Likewise, an attack from a Yo-Kai towards a Yo-Kai that has an advantageous matchup against it, such as a Shady Yo-Kai's attack on a Heartful Yo-Kai, deals 20% less damage.

A Yo-Kai's Attack stat not only influences the damage of a popped wib wob, but also its Soultimate. Tribe unities, which increase both Attack and HP, will increase Soultimate damage.

So what does this mean? First, utilize tribe unities for an easy, passive, accross the board increase to HP and damage. Second, if you're having trouble with a stage, check to make sure you don't have any disadvantageous matchups. Finally, when selecting a stage to farm on, make sure you are fighting a Yo-Kai your team has an advantageous matchup against. For example, if you have a brave team, I highly recommend Frostail.

I hate how much of a bad reputation this series has with some people. Like my friend who refuses to try it because it's a "rip off" of Pokemon, like really who cares. As long as its fun its good.

Okay, I have some comments about Hasbro's Yo-kai Watch TCG. First of all, Venoct's art on the card is looks totally badass. The rest of the art is... okay? Second, Jibanyan and Shogunyan have the same description (Which says "MeowKB" instead of Next HarMeowny?). Last, robot is not a proper noun and Robonyan doesn't think he's Jibanyan, he IS Jibanyan. I know these are protoypes, but if these things don't get fixed it's going to bug me. A lot. I'll still buy the hell out of the TCG though.

TL:DR, These cards have very inaccurate descriptions and I like some of the art.
