The top combo leader now is Rukia and at 5x combo, under this assumption, Bastet would do 5x or 7.5x with the 3 green combo which matches.
Bastet can go higher, but seems balanced since Rukia obviously has the RCV multiplier, and Bastet's 3 wood combo requirement is actually kind of harsh, especially if you try to get two prongs, which Rukia does easily.

Personally, I don't think she's too good, but at least she looks to be relevant.

I'm following the google doc's recommendation to reroll until you get one of its listed monsters, but I don't really understand what makes, say, Thanatos not even worth it as a last resort.

ease of activation is how easily can you proc your leader (and friend leader)'s LS. for example anubis would be a great starter (high multiplier, no need for specific subs) but his LS is so hard to use for newcomers that people usually suggest rerolling him.

How easy it is to activate your leader skill. For instance, you have passive leaders, like your starter, or the Norns, who'll automatically give you a multiplier as long as you meet basic conditions. I.e, when a card says it'll give, say, a 1.5 HP and 2x Attack buff to every water attribute monster, anything that has the water attribute, even as a subattribute, will passively get that buff.

Other monsters have harsher activation requirements but usually have much greater rewards. The most common ones would be combo and rainbow leaders. The former requires you to hit a certain number of combos before you get a multiplier, the latter would need you to match several colors before you're given a multiplier. These are more challenging for beginners, especially since you don't have any time extend awakenings to help your comboing.

The main reason I use them is that it speeds up runs considerably anyway. Most people are what you'd expect: 4-5 combo average just doing it freehand as quick as possible.

They also have the benefit that you can run teams of different colors so you aren't competing for the same orbs or can get around the light/dark absorb bullshit so many dungeons have.

Zeromus is probably the best from that dungeon, but it still falls off quickly.

For one, none of those monsters have more than 3 awakenings I believe (the things on the right side). Those all help either utility or damage output significantly and are ultra important later. The ones the FF monsters have are mediocre. Additionally, the cooldown on active skills is way too high, and the damage itself falls off really quickly. Monsters whose leader skills work on a multiplier end up doing far more damage in a single turn, since they help the whole team, and often can do more damage by themselves because of how combos and multipliers work.

Essentially, the monsters are actually decent for where you are now, but you want to save up stones and roll in rhe upcoming godfest for monsters with actual mid-late game damage potential.

Just be aware that the great great majority of farmable normal dungeon drops are shit. While you can get through a good chunk of the Normal dungeon with farmable stuff the Deep Hurting will start around Ocean of Heaven and will just escalate from there.

I've gone 3 years with only paying 5 dollars, so you can still non-IAP about 99 percent of the game (if you have luck with rolls that is).
