I personally think it's a good idea, because I have seen too many bases go down by just our platoon pulling a full gal or 2, driving directly into the HIVE, and putting as much c4 as possible on it.

The specialized ai weapons actually take out infantry much faster, the gorgons have a super wide spread (more than the cosmos). They are AV weapons which trade the effectiveness of dedicated AV weapons for the ability to reliably hit aircraft and harassers, and also to better deal with infantry if some of them get in your face unexpectedly.

Memekeeper - never. Least enjoyable to gun for, and by far least enjoyable to drive for, and most of the time, you can do better with a vulcan anyway. Vulcan fits the harasser playstyle much better imo, and it has a significantly higher skill ceiling for the driver.

So I've been playing a new character and pouring all of the certs I get into improving light assault class. Only BR9 or 10 I think. I have C4 and almost 500 certs. What I'm wondering is if I should spend the 500 to upgrade the C4 or save for a one hit kill pump shotgun. I'm pretty much only using my starter shotgun, with my wild and erratic playstyle it suits me much better than the carbine and I've already gotten the gold medal for it. I'll be using my gun way more often than the C4 but two C4 is a ton of vehicle damage from just one person. It's a difficult decision. I really want that shotgun and I really want that C4.

Get the C4. Two bricks will kill an MBT and they do massive damage to structures. You'll get far more use out of it than with a shotgun. The pump actions can be fun, but really can only be used in dick-sucking range, which you'll find you're not generally in for most of your playtime.

The c4 will work better than a pump. pump action shottys arent all that useful in this game due to the stupid way PS2 handles shotgun accuracy (ie; youll center your crosshair right over someones chest from 10 meters way, and the rng will decide that it doesnt like you and your entire spread will fly to the left of your target. then youll die before you can chamber another round). Also, pump actions have a shorter range than your default when they should have a longer range.

if you want something that kills faster, get the auto, if you want something with a longer range, get the baron.

The lancer is the worst garbage in the whole game. Try it out in VR to see how shit it is. Pathetic damage that is lower than the G2A dumbfire, slow reload, then a charging time to fire. If you're playing heavy assault then you're probably at medium range or at semi long range with a vantage point. Just dumbfire with the G2A rocket or the default. It's easy to hit tanks from long distances once you get used to the projectile speed. Unless it's a magrider they can't really get out of the way too well, they can go forward or backward. Just aim to hit a little behind if they're stationary and can see the rocket, they're going to back up right into it 99% of the time.

I have my medic nearly decked out anyways but I did that years ago.(cert wise, no weapon purchases)

For HA like I have no idea what RL is even good on Terran, I know all the stocks are passable but whatever one is best at killing vehicles.

Same with its primary, I personally dislike the Terran HA primary but dont know a better alternative, basically too much recoil and seems like its only good midrange.

Dont know any of the passives/armors/grenades either should use or what abilities to upgrade.

the starter LMG is my favourite of the bunch, the MSW-R is the slightly more MLG choice though.
for launcher it's personal choice really, I prefer the decimator for better dealing with MAXes, but you can't really go wrong with the grounder either.
as for upgrades I like to go either resist and ASC or adrenaline and nonoweave. but I'll pull out the grenade bando if the situation calls for it. but you can't really go wrong with using flak either.
as for grenades I like to use AV grenades for the nade/deci wombo-combo on MAXes

for medic/LA the only weapons I find to be straight upgrades over the starters are the burst weapons

Hell, PS1 had different damage values for armor vs. health with every player having a second armor health pool somewhat like current shields. VS were great because they could switch their firing mode on the fly instead of reloading to AP rounds, so you'd open up with AP Mode and switch to AI after a couple of shots. Imagine if shields worked similarly (or if there were no headshot multipliers as long as your shields were up).
