They're called Celestial Children. In the Upper Cathedral Ward, they're all outside an orphanage. One can only assume those things used to be human babies the Church experimented on to make Kin, or experimented on pregnant women to birth Kin. My guess is they were looking to make new sources of blood should something ever happen to Ebrietas, who name, consequently enough, means 'drunkeness'. Maybe blood drunk.

Try to separate them. Run up to where the Chime Maiden near the shortcut is, that should make you lose one or two. You just need to get one down, since they don't respawn.

I'm not sure how many of you guys are familiar with the series but I came across some of my old Vampire Hunter D books and thought it would be neat to do a build designed around D. Nothing, really. Everything in your stores carries over and you actually have access to new things (like Tier 5 Ritual Blood). I guess if you want to be super anal, you can save a few hundred Echos each by capping out your Vials, since their price slightly goes up in NG+.

I'd say just be sure you get the two Blood Rocks and the Arcane gem.

I'm not sure, I don't want speedruns, but to kill literally every boss you'd need to go through Chalices as well, so a speedrun is deceptively long. I'd recommend watching some of the Defiled Chalice runs, though, those are what make you git gud, as a player, since they half your HP. Defiled Amygdala is generally considered one of the harder bosses in the game until you learn to bait.

I can agree with you in that regard, though this isn't the end of the series. Miyazaki said like 5 years down the line he might let someone else at from make a follow up in a recent interview. But all the same none of the endings have a sense of finality at all, especially after the boss before it really felt like it was the end of everything. Nah, everything is available to you now in the shop is available at the start of NG+, especially since you've done enough Chalices to need Ritual Blood (5). And if you really need something, you can rush Amelia, which will basically unlock the entire world for you.

I made the mistake of finishing all my Chalice dungeons and farming before I beat the final boss, and I felt like I ruined the final boss for myself. I was just stupidly overpowered.

Don't make my mistake. You should probably toy around with levels 1-3 now, maybe a few 4s. Either wait for 5 until NG+ or wait until you've beaten Gehrman.

As for how they work, you find materials in them and you just progress through them like a normal dungeon. Don't bother with the Root versions until you've the level 5 chalices. Check the info in the OP; there's an image in that Chalice section that gives you a speedrun walkthrough of it. It's a bit outdated with some old info, but it still works.

Not him, but that Lightning is pretty easy to dodge. You want to fight Orphan out in the ocean and unlock when he does the scream for it. The Lightning hits Kos's corpse and one set of bolts will head to your location. So when he does this attack, stand there and wait until it hits, then sprint (or, if you're far enough away from Kos's corpse, you can just run) in the left or right direction.

The Lightning is honestly one of those attacks that is easier to deal with as long as Orphan doesn't attack you at the same time as he screeches.

Pretty much put all my echoes into strength and endurance. Didn't really get into the Souls games before so I didn't know what a good build would be.

A strength build is pretty safe in BB, you should be good. I would recommend you play around a bit in Chalices, just for the sake of the experience, though. Chalices, even the preset ones, made me a better player overall and I don't think I could have beaten the DLC without them.

Ludwig has a cheat, though, so you'll be okay for him if you're absolutely hating life.
If you equip the Impurity rune, you can summon two NPCs, Valtr and the the Madaras butcher dude. Don't bother with Henriette who is also nearby. Valtr alone is a fucking beast, but with the second NPC you'll wipe the floor with him.

I went to Ludwig in NG+ with the NPCs just to fuck around and the two of them together stunlocked Ludwig in phase 1 and both tanked phase 2 for me.

I was actually amazed at how strong the NPCs were when there's more than one of them.

The only battles I really found harder with NPCs were Camerabeast and Yharnam.

Rom was the one powering the veil that kept everything hidden/locked away. You kill Rom, and the Moon can descend fully and suddenly you can see Yharnam.

The teleportation was more likely MP pushing you along the path.

6 playthroughs into this game and I'm only just discovering how broken paper+beastblood with saw spear is.
I thought it was just early game against BSB and Amelia and then it'd fall off but nope, every boss I've fought dies in seconds. Ebrietas was especially funny.

Beast Blood is pretty much straight PvP cheese. I usually don't use it when soloing bosses because it isn't very fair to them, it really ramps up your damage output and cheapens the fight. That said if some low level bbg baddie summons me for ludwig I am partial to popping one.

I would wait for her to do some attacks, then take a few swings at her arms. Not much damage, but you can break her arms, opening up opportunities for getting at the head if she never slams it down.

It only gets really hard once she rips her upper arms off. The only way I found to handle that was to stay uncomfortable close to her, force her to jump, roll at the right time to evade damage, and take two swings at one of her arms. Rinse, repeat, pray to God she doesn't hit cause if she does you're dead as fuck.

Arc scales to 99, End reached its softcap at 40, Vitality is only giving like 9 hp per level now, Skill and Strength still giving 1-2 extra damage per level on most weapons when accounting for gems, Arcane scales all the way to 99, and Bloodtinge I don't use much but at the level it's at the Blunderbuss can kill Yharnamite dudes in Central Yharnam in 2-3 shots, or some critters like dogs in two shots, averages around 500.

I mentiond Arc twice but I meant to add that enemy damage will scale with your HP some. It helps you survive poison and stuff more and other fixed damage but since Vials scale too, it's not so bad. But still, enemy attack damage will scale with your HP, I don't know how much but some things will ALWAYS do 30% damage to my hp from certain enemies, etc.
