Out of curiosity are you guys shield users? I found Abyss Watchers pretty easy because it was all rolling and poking, but people keep saying it was a really hard fight. I found it kind of like Gwyn or a much more predictable Fume Knight.

How do you kill tree solo? My phantoms keep dying because they're idiots and once I get to the point where I need to kill his front I'm not sure how to get in and hit his arm while dealing with attacks from it AND that poison stuff he puts on the ground from a slam.

now im trying to learn the parries and it'll be good

god damn using a shield makes everything so incredibly easy.

i got to irithyll and at the second bonfire after the doggy on the bridge i think i spent thirty or so deaths just getting past the three cunts at the start because im using the farron spin sword and no shield.

it was hell and i ran past them in the end :)

switching back to the lothric sword and a good shield makes this hellhole bearable.

the dogs and the mage shooters on the big staircase through shortcut town made me ditch the spinsword because fuck me it was impossible.

If your weapon has a vertical strike then that makes things much easier. I soloed the tree after practicing as a phantom and Lucerne's 2HR1 could reach most of his spots even when he wasn't laying down properly.

The game is much faster now, similar to bloodborne and it seems like str weapons are worse of since they have long animations.

Played with a claymore then a GS, then I switched to Fumes after I got it. Everything is doable you just need to learn the timings. Being overly aggressive, especially on the more violent bosses will wreck you.

Once you get it down you will wreck everything, I one shot the last boss just because I was so used to playing with out a shield and getting soo many different animations down.

Just beat them though. The battle is actually easier than it appears at first. For the first minute or two you'll be face solo against two.

But the game gives you help when the third one decides to take them both on. The real one tends to stay out of the way if the third one doesn't hit it first. So you can spend time battling it out with him.

The third one will wear the second one, the fake, down and you'll be able to kill it. It'll take like half a minute but both the fake and the helper will revive. And then they'll all start fighting each other again. You just use their fighting against them and try to pick out the real one and go to town.

It has a second stage but it's much easier since it's only one dude who you just have to roll out of the way of. And stay back from. He'll jump at you trying to do a bunch of fancy moves that tend to leave him open for backstabs.

I went for a STR build, I found that giant mace you can make from one of the souls and decided to use it.

It's so ridiculously slow to swing that by the time you come close to swinging you'll already be hit at least once. This is made even worse by the fact that you are so vulnerable to staggering that that one hit will probably make you do so, even if it's a trash mob.

And you will never roll as well as a dex build of course so it's far harder to dodge things. Dex is basically better in every way.
