Poise works NOTHING like it did in older games. It's basically a resistance to stuns while attacking.

Hyper armor is when poise actually becomes active. The higher your poise, the more hyper armor you have and therefore you have a lower chance of being stunned out of your attack.

If you mean 1v1, then Quality/Dex dominates. However, there's pretty much no such thing as a 1v1 in Dark Souls 3 right now and beating gank squads pretty much entirely depends on how much damage you can deal per hit. STR or Pyro is easily the best at doing this. If you're getting ganked by 4 dudes with FUGS, your best bet is to use FUGS too.

I didn't have a problem with him first time round but in NG+ he seems to be wildly aggressive and performs nothing but homing combos and lightning attacks. I've watched videos of other people fighting him in NG+ and he doesn't seem so aggressive with them, am I missing something?

Does this game pre-load the boss to behave a certain way prior to you entering the bossfog? Because I seem to notice that sometimes the beast he's riding will also have wildly different behaviors each time I fight it.

hey /dsg/, could you please give me some advice?

i'm playing scholar on pc, trying to do a dex build. i've been using the falchion for most of the game so far (just finished iron keep), and i've been trying the great reaper. i fucking hate the falchion, but it's currently my strongest/best weapon aside from the reaper. i like the reaper, except that some of the swings cause the player to step back slightly, which is taking a little bit of getting used to. my other gripe is that it seems to clang off walls so easily.

can /dsg/ recommend a replacement for the reaper? i like having range, and the piercing thing is quite useful too. there's a reaper dropped by the artificial undead, is that any good? i don't own one but i can always grind those 4 near the bonfire in harvest valley. the washing pole is lovely, but that 20 durability is a pain.

the other thing i need some help with is titanite chunks. they seem to be harder to find than slabs, i had 11 slabs and more than 5 fully upgraded titanite items in my first playthrough, but once i'd used all the found/bought chunks i resorted to farming dragon aerie.

i know about the bell towers, but i'm kind of mediocre at pvp, and i usually have to wait a while for a chance at getting a chunk.

any help would be really wonderful, thanks /dsg/.

Thrusting swords shit on ultra greatswords. The FUGS 2-h R1 can be punished by roll BS and all normal R1s are roll BS punishable if the person tries to follow up with another R1. Just threaten people with the fast R1s and fish for easy backstabs. Haven't lost to a FUGS kid with my DEX rapier.

How frequent are invasions in DS3?

In Demon's I was late for the party so I never got invaded, in Dark I only got invaded a couple times in anor londo and if I wasn't pulling the cord because I barely managed to reach the oreos and smores fight without wasting sunnyD, I was getting assraped by people with megamule.

In Dark 2 I never got invaded, but I did a bunch of PVP in Iron Keep to get Dragon Covenant to rank 3.

In Bloodborne they fucked up with the bells and all so I never got invaded outside of the nightmare frontier and that was only like twice.

I genuinely wanted to be invaded after I finished Dark Souls but I've never seen another invasion since that day.

Rosaria's Fingers has no reason to exist, can just make Rosaria an NPC you find.

Make Sunbro's/Sunwraiths stay as the same covenant but receive different items which are turned in to different places (e.g. Sunbroing gets you a sunlight medal that you turn in at a Sunlight Statue like always and Sunwraithing gets you a Stormlight Medal you can turn in at/near the Nameless King's boss arena.) Sunlight Medal turn ins could be more melee/co op oriented and Stormlight Medal rewards can net you offensive miracles.

Both Watchdogs and Faithful should appear as their usual mixed red/blue colours if they invade in their covenant areas and get their covenant rewards for doing so.

Dragons or their descendants/followers are back to make their power play because the Lords are almost all dead/give a shit. They are pretty hippy though so they just do so all they do is meditate and chill alot.

"Rosaria" doesn't seem to be Gwynevere but rather a really damn powerful Handmaiden of hers. If Gwynevere can survive 3 games worth of Fire dying out by cucking dragons, you can be sure she escaped safely from Pontiff.

Unknown, it's just somewhere south of the game since that's where all the Pilgrms are coming from. There's no confirmation one way or the other it's New Londor although they share many similarities with Carim's Church.
