Being a top fragger does not always mean you're the best player on your team.

Skip to 2:12. What you'll see is how a good play isn't the one that gets you a lot of kills. In 6s and in highlander, the top fraggers are the medic and the pocket/demo. Those classes get the most heals and have the highest damage potential. However, a roamer jumping in at the right time serves as a great distraction for his team to move up and engage. The roamer made the right choice, the combo is simply following up on the space he created. Sure, the rest of the team will clean up and get kills, but the good player here was the roamer.

Similarly, a heavy will top frag in matchmaking. He does so much damage and and can be everywhere that he just cleans up kills. But he depends on his team to create space for him. Does the heavy take a lot of skill and decision making? No, not as much as the other teammates. But still, he top frags because of how the class is designed.

People who brag about top fragging are the same dweebs who go into valve servers with an unusual wearing, australium medigun wielding medic being their buttplug pocket medic. They like the power trip, they've never played with a team and gotten past silver.

Additional ideas:

1) Backburner aids to the KILLing with a faster holster speed, allowing for easier combo kills. Normal or slower deploy speed. Still has the airblast cost penalty.
2) Degreaser aids to support with a faster deploy speed, for those critical moments when you need to reflect a crocket right now or extinguish a teammate in his last points of life. Normal or slower holster speed. Maybe lessen the airblast cost penalty.
3) Phlog is still phlog and it's there to make shitters that can't go behind and kill you as soon as you leave the taunt cry.
4) Airblast player push force depends on distance. Pushed players trajectory has deviation and is less predictable.

I swear the Manmelter could be the buff Pyro needs. Have it still "extinguish" but instead of sucking up flames for crits just have it suck up projectiles for crits. This way instead of encouraging the w+m1+m2 airblast spam or the knockback abuse with flamethrower the Manmelter could serve as the real teamwork secondary it was intended as.

Maybe even instead of crits it reduces weapon switch like the Eyelander's heads but for the puff-sting crowd.
