I just started experimenting with highwayman and holy shit, how could I have gone so long without using them. I've got Disorienting Blast to clear corpses and chaining Point-Blank Shot is a fucking murder machine, while the guy in rank 3 one-shots stressers half the time.

Finish the mission first. Then come back and try the Shambler. You can retreat after the first round (where you're suprised), and finish the quest to escape.

K I looked it up and the virtue chance is supposedly ~20%, at most I should be able to bring it up to 65% using trinkets and the quirk, but that's like asking for RNG to screw me over.

My advice for your first DD attempt: assume complete failure, bring the tankiest motherfucker you can, and prioritize keeping him alive to carry home the trinkets.
Then, just figure out what the enemies do and come back informed for round 2.

Put an antiquarian on the second rank, have her be guarded by the goyim. Now the ennemies have to hit the crusader with even more prot.

After having beaten the base game (i'll be picking up NG+ in a while) and while horribly sleep-deprived, I've started fucking around with modding. So far I'm making some small quality of life changes across the class' moves, any suggestions?

so far i've got:
abomination:
-small scaling protection on base armor (i plan to give all the main rank 1-2 fighters at least a little)
-vomit now deals minor damage on-hit to make use of those odd crits it can do

arbalest (andros' musketeer changes noted in parenthesis, since i was using that and why not):
-blindfire now deals slightly less damage (-20% now), but moves arbalest back a space, considering namechange to "covered retreat" or similar
-arbalest bandage now stops blight/bleed and can target the back slot (musketeer's heals more but doesn't stop bleed/blight, also targets back row)

antiquarian:
-no damage or status changes, but flashpowder, festering vapors, and fortifying vapors now have a random chance to affect more than one target (like the fish shaman's stress attack). considering doing something with GET DAHWN but i'm unsure.

Is there a useful cheat engine that lets you speed up the game (and set it back to normal values, too)?
It takes so fucking long to do it all by hand
