Seeing as we have larger maps now, we can probably take a page from Taxi Station and put some asteroids outside the station's zlayer.

But I was thinking something a little more extreme. Actual Dwarf Fortress mode, like Dragonbro likes to do, without moving everything to the asteroid. Imagine snow map, but rock map.

Just make Box, and replace all space tiles on all Z layers (aside shuttle spawn locations like nukeops) with rock walls with ores and digsites. Nukeops/Raiders can get ddrills so they can dig to station quickly and just ddrill into the walls for a stealth op. The c4 explosions they use can be blamed on a Gibtonite boom.
Since space is now all rock walls, you can't space people that easily. But you CAN make your own ling rapecaves or cult base with a pickaxe/drill, like they always do on the asteroid.
Would give Science a use for bombs on the station's zlevel. To get rid of the red rock everywhere.

Also, give Engineers more use for their mesons and give them a pickaxe and mining scanner for digging around and defusing Gibtonite. They can fill the role of classic sappers and dig tunneols and place Gibtonite charges as needed.
The engineers can pick through Xenoarch digsites for free stacks of metal/plasteel for expanding/repairing the station.

Monster rooms may be optional for the station's zlayer, for balance reasons. Don't want to see the Virologist staring at a Goliath outside his window at roundstart due to RNG.

You can have miners/Assistants exploring zlayers without a jetpack, just running through everything on each zlayer with a Ripley or a ton of hyperzine and a ddrill, trying to find those new vault rooms and other loot.

For a gulag, give the prisoners an implant that stops them from leaving the zlayer like the nuke disk does, and they have to buy their way to freedom through enough ore gathered and processed. The money from the ore processing would go to the Warden/HoS for buying more guns from Cargo.

Did you recently install Windows 10 or update BYOND?

In my experience, It has to do with NanoUI AND text in the text box. Both of which are problems because BYOND is stubborn and wants to always use Internet Explorer. Follow these steps:
Uninstall BYOND.
Delete the cache and skins folders in My Documents\BYOND. Doing this will have it redownload NanoUI upon connection.
Reinstall BYOND.

If you're on Windows 10, force uninstall Microsoft Edge.
BYOND tries to use Microsoft Edge for the text box instead of Internet Explorer, and that causes instability problems. Especially when bigger text appears in quick succession, like during a shootout.
Search for Windows Powershell in your start menu, and run it as Administrator.
Enter in the following line:

Get-AppxPackage *edge* | Remove-AppxPackage

Reboot your system.
Reinstall BYOND after deleting the skins and cache folders in My Documents\BYOND.

Do you have any GPU controlling programs running?
I have an EVGA GPU, so it comes with EVGA PrecisionX for changing GPU clocking and fan temps and such. If I have that running while playing, Dreamseeker crashes. So I close out of that, and it works fine.
BYOND hates anything taking priority over it on the GPU, which also causes the white screen block problems some people have.

I don't think it's as bad as you do, but I don't think that one person can have a permanent effect by playing alone.

However to say no one ever copies good players is wrong. People copied me when I played mechanic every day. In fact, I was copying other good mechanics that played the job before me. I assimilated all the cool gimmicks and routines they did into a single package and people said I was great because of it.

That guy didn't invent using telescience to recover bodies but he did help revive the practice when telescience was primarly used to steal hardsuits and shit.

Even for milder things, I see people to this day that are copying SME designs that were copied from my SME designs. They've changed but they still have some lingering aspects that I copied from others or came up with myself.

The longest lasting effect I had in mechanics was grabbing new players that were trying out the job and teaching them exactly how I did it. They went on to do just what I did and I think that distinctively shows that people copy others both good and bad. Not just bad.

But most of those players have quit, moved on to other jobs, or so on. You don't have a permanant effect on the game like I said. Unless you become a coder and add some really good shit. And even then, the best code is often a springboard to even better coded things.

We can effect others playstyles but it's always temporary and it's best to not put too much faith in it. Still, Al Liam did influence others to play telesci like he did and that effect is still felt currently.

Bad ideas? I got one then, why not an app that just lets the pAI gain legs like a mommi, but no hands or only 1. Hitting the pAI for a small amount of damage would cause it to lose all of a charge meter that determines how long the pAI can move before it has to recharge a bit, a 30 second cool down on being able to use your legs again would be fair. It would be a semi useful borg then but with this as a large draw back, you cant deal any damage or all of your damage you deal is zeroed out so no killbot hell.

Its pretty much a library made for scientists and writers when some anti-science/technology paramilitary started to piss everyone off in certain sector. Then it was soon occupied by a cult that end up failing or some bullshit like that.
Its an attempt to make a comfy place for explorers and a semi-useful place for a cult base
The tomes are not imbued, the talisma is uselss, the mobs are easy to kill and they are there just to give some ambient.
