Someone asked me to repost all the notes I've been making throughout the event, so here I go:

1: Phantom.
Dantes is back for Tower of Edgy Shit 2: The Edgening. He's trapped you in another pseudo-Singularity to fuck with you and expose you to the ugliness of humankind or some shit of the sort, and he's gonna play a sort of Virgil role to your Dante by guiding you through it.

Fight through the 7 days of jealousy/despair/resentment-crazed Servants and he lets you go. Apparently he's still getting a leg-up from Solomon to do this.

2: Fergus
For those confused by the sudden setting change: You are still in Chaldea, but Dantes is pulling your mind constantly away to his magic Château d'If recreation. Time passes differently between the two places, so Mashu hasn't noticed anything yet and thinks you're just zoning off occasionally. You gotta beat the Judgement of the Seven Sins or else he'll leave your mind to rot in the prison. Also, you start at the original cell every time, but the roads lead to different places every time he guides you.

“Mercedes” (who we know is Nightingale) just happened to be lost there with no memorie for no adequately explained reason. Dantes gives her the name Mercedes and she kinda just sticks around as your cheerleader/caretaker.

As you probably realized, the seven doors will relate to the seven sins (We've got Envy and Lust done), so yeah, this is basically Dante's Inferno with Dantes as Virgil. Dantes' Inferno, if you will.

All [Dantes] says is that the prison is another Singularity-like thing "created by means of Solomon".

Interesting detail, when you point out that Fergus isn't acting normal, Dantes quotes The Vision of Tnugdalus and says that that's not the real Fergus at all. When you lapse back into Chaldea after both battles, the Servant you fought is there acting normally, but they both try to say something before Dantes drags you back. Phantom has "something he needed to say", and Fergus comments on your pale face to Mashu, and though he agrees to help carry you to the infirmary when she asks him, he tells her that, although the situation is foreboding, he’s sure there's no need to worry about medical issues before getting cut off.

3: Gilles.
Back on Chaldea, you’ve apparently gone catatonic long enough for Mashu and Roman to notice, and they’ve carried you to the infirmary. You’re apparently healthy and your eyes are open, but staring blankly into space. Roman confirms what I said last night: Fergus knows something (Phantom too probably), but for some reason he’s not answering his questions.

Back in Happy Fun Time Rape Castle, “Mercedes” is kind of looking after you while still angsting over not knowing who she is. Dantes strolls in, does his usual florid speech about “have you ever done [Sin of the day]” (Sloth this time) and then gleefully points out that the amount of time your mind remains in Chaldea is steadily shortening, so you should probably get a move on.

Holy shit is the girl’s art shitty. Yes, this merited a special mention. She looks fucking ridiculous emoting with her arms outstretched. This is fucking amateur hour.

Anyhow, Gilles is ranting about wanting to pollute all that’s bright and blah blah blah, you beat him, he recovers his senses (well, in so far as Caster Gilles can do that) and tells you to not give up because you’ll surely find a way out. Also, he apologizes for the fact that his “fragment” has caused you trouble, which goes in line with my guess that Servants you encounter are twisted projections drawn from the ones at Chaldea, so they know what’s going on.

Seriously, though, this event may be easy for people with a bunch of maxed out golds, but I'm really seeing what they meant when they said it was for veteran players. Even with just silvers, having the time to max enough of them to consistently exploit weaknesses in each room seems much more important here than it was in Garden of Order.

5: Caligula
Nightingale wakes you up again and says Avenger has gone up ahead to scout. Apparently, he’s not the one who summons the apparitions, so he does this every day to see who you’ll fight. She says that despite how he talks, he doesn’t actually look down on you and is in fact doing this out of kindness for your safety.

You see Caligula in your room in Chaldea talking to someone. He is coherent, since he says that the eyes of Artemis “cannot reach him at the bottom of hell” so he’s free from the curse of madness. Initially he just keeps longing after Nero because he says she’s the living image of his beloved Agrippina, but then he suddenly catches himself mid-rant and apologizes embarrassed for going off like that in front of you.

Caligula Part 2.

Fou is there and his presence kind of gets Caligula to focus. He’s the one to the deliver the florid Sin speech this time, about knowing endless hunger (in the boundless desire/ambition/greed sort of way) and all that. He takes responsibility for his life, saying that even though Artemis might have cursed him, the endless gluttony was born from him. But then he says that despite this, he was recorded as a Hero rather than Anti-Hero for one reason.

You are still walking through the corridors with Avenger while this is going on. Caligula was apparently talking to your unconscious body while your mind was in the Chateau, but you can sort of hear him since your mind is still tied to your body.

You eventually reach the room proper and see the Caligula fragment, who's just batshit crazy as usual, so Dantes cuts the chat and you just jump and fight him. After the fight, you're back in your room at Chaldea (still unconscious) and Caligula keeps talking. The gist is that despite his sins, the reason he was summoned as a Heroic Spirit rather than an Anti-hero is that he still held love in his heart, which still shone through the madness. Meaning that so long as you do the same, you will not fall and have hope of breaking through. He tells you to believe and keep walking, and then leaves you to sleep.

5: Amakusa Shirou

Something I forgot to mention before: when you beat Jeanne last time, she dematerialized, not vanished. Dantes knew that, but still cackled about how there was no use in her hiding and all that. Anyhow, that’s why she’s here.

Dantes opens talking about greed, and a guy who’s “greed” was so vast it encompassed the entire world, and manifested in him wanting to “save the world.” Dantes is kind of going by the definition of Greed that Greed (the character) uses in FMA: even good ambitious are desires by definition. Dantes actually respects “him” for it.

>Dantes: ”That recklessness, that purity, that greed! It is certainly worthy of ovation!”

Interestingly, he then gets a little hesitant because he says the enemy this time is formidable. He actually seems worried about you and your chances.

Anyhow, Jeanne has come out of hiding and teamed up with Amakusa (who is “that man” in case you have the reading comprehension of a first grader.) Dantes is still butthurt about her refusing to rage, she tries to “save his soul" again and he gets so fucking angry that he turns into his shadow fart form.

Scene immediately cuts back to Chaldea where the real Jeanne is going through another cliffnotes narration of Dantes’ story, finally saying his name out loud.

Cut back to the Chateau where Amakusa finally speaks up and tell Jeanne that it’s hopeless to try and reach Dantes with just words, but does point out himself that a guy who has known hell must also know the value of nobility, and then Dantes is like “No, shut up, I’m totally pure malice, stop poking holes in my chuuni delusions!”

Amakusa and Jeanne agree to team up to bully the chuuni nerd-I mean, try to save Dantes’ soul, commenting about how it feels weird to be on the same team for once. Meanwhile Edglordius Maximus is still going at it.

>Dantes: “The me from the paste was not granted The Lord’s salvation! Today, the personifications of The Lord’s salvation will be killed by my hands! ”

After the battle, the saint duo give their parting words. Amakusa says that Dantes’ “black flame” will consume him one day if he does not reconsider, Dantes replies that he is the eternal avenger, and Jeanne says that nothing is eternal, “especially evil.”

Anyway, Dantes tells them to piss off, albeit he pays them some slight amount of respect, saying that though he laughs at their God, he does not laugh at them (in the end, he respects the fact that neither succumbed to their assigned sin.) They both say they’ll pray for him and vanish. Dantes says you should go back to the cells since he’s tired for once, and the whole thing ends.


Aaaand that's it. I also have some interesting observations back from the main plot regarding some comments Roman and Leonardo made. Let me see if I can find the script to remember how that went.

4: Jeanne

This one was actually kind of hilarious. Scene opens with Jeanne in your Chaldea room giving your unconscious body a cliffnotes version of The Count of Monte Cristo (is everyone just taking turns to come in and talk to your unattended catatonic body or what?)

Dantes just barges in your cell looking sulkily and tells you to get a move on, and his general mood is "shit, fuck it, let's get this over with."

He gets a bit of his groove back as he gives his usual Sin-themed speech, though this one's clearly more personal: about how self-interested rage is punished, but justified rage is extolled, and how people refuse to admit that is the purest emotion of all. Since he's 'allabouta dat sweet sweet retribution, this basically him jerking off to his favourite character trait.

...and then he starts throwing a tantrum because "The Ruler of the Fourth Gate" (Jeanne) refuses to act like that. He was expecting someone he could circlejerk about vengeance with, got the Bland Tofu Holy Maiden, and he's so disappointed that he's kicking around like a child.

A couple interesting main plot tidbits I picked a while back but didn’t mention since I wanted to wait until I finished London (I still haven’t stopped to read past Chapter 9, but whatever):

Observation 1:
After Okeanos, Roman decides to use SHIVA to examine Solomon’s age for irregularities, which should normally be beyond its capacity. The fights in early UBW beat out the early Zero fights because the characters don't stop to chat for ages between every exchange.
