Let's just propose a lot of themes and make a poll like we did last time then, we could use that website that lets you organize the options from the one you like the most to the one you really don't want, it could be better than a straw poll for this kind of decisions.

Yes, that's the idea. Tomorrow what I'll do is make a list of those themes that were proposed, give it a two or three day period to be discussed, then have a ranked poll.

The way this ranked poll will work is that the first place vote will be one full vote, while every place below it will be 1/2 the value of the one above it. Also, depending on the number of themes, it may be that only a certain number of those ranked will get points e.g. out of ten, the first five. All of this will be done in the background by myself; all voters have to do is rank their preferences. This system weighs higher preferences more heavily while still allowing voters to express a range of preferences; hopefully, this will lead to better vote margins and fewer ties.

For example, if there is a poll of options A, B, C, D, E, F, G H, I, J, with only the first five counting, one might vote this way:

1 - J
2 - A
3 - C
4 - E

The others are left unranked.

So J would be worth 1, A 1/2, C 1/4, E 1/8, F 1/16. B, D, G, H, I would be assigned no points.

tl;dr if there's a ranked voting system you'll probably only need to care about ranking the first few. This is only slightly more complex than a single vote.

In this case, I agree with /a/ because the anime put in a lot of work planting flags, teasing the ship and generally leading the work to Kayo ending, only for it to pull the rug out from under the audience, out of nowhere and with no proper setup. One might argue that it's a realistic conclusion, but this is a story, not real life. You have to put work into making sure your ending makes sense from a narrative standpoint. If you do subvert their expectations (which you yourself set) just for the sake of the ending you want to push, you shouldn't be surprised in the least if they call bullshit on it. In the end, a storyteller's job is to manipulate the audience's expectations to make them feel whatever emotion it is that you want to make them feel, and they do want that from you. But if you manipulate your audience's expectations so blatantly and spitefully, they'll resent you for it because they don't want to look too deeply into it, and they want to be able to believe that the story is its own organic thing instead of something that a person is telling them to get specific emotional reactions.

Just to be clear, in case you see the block of words and become set on dismissing my post as a butthurt shipper's ramblings regardless of its actual content, I'm not so much opposed to Kayo marrying someone else during those fifteen years as I am to the fact that the story didn't even put any work into establishing that as a conclusion. It felt more like the story getting out of hand from how the author wanted it to end, so he snapped it forcefully back with the coma just to push his planned ending.

Sure. Akane and Wakana are university students; Akane studies journalism, Wakana's in education studies. They have their own schedules, but make time.to hang out together. Hikaru's popular in high school, since she's cheerful and sporty, but she's also a troublemaker. Rikako and Mikan are about to graduate from primary school and enter middle school; Rikako hasn't made too many friends because of her own shyness and Mikan driving everyone away, while Mikan is Mikan, therefore worrying.

As for their relationships with each other, Akane and Wakana are close, because they've been together the longest and have to take care of all the others; that said, it's true that they have really contrasting personalities, Akane being cool and aloof while Wakana's very warm and affectionate, so they see each other as rivals of sorts too. Hikaru is also really close to her two older sisters, after an initial rough period, but was the kid sister for so long that she really dotes on Rikako since she became a big sister. That makes for a really contentious relationship between Mikan and Hikaru, Mikan seeing Hikaru as obnoxious, while Hikaru thinks Mikan is bratty. Hikaru still acts like an older sister to Mikan when it matters. Rikako spends most of her time with Mikan, but enjoys spending time eith her older sisters, and is a little too reliant on them for attention. Everyone worries for Mikan, while Mikan worries about everyone; though she doesn't want to admit it, her older sisters are very nice to her, but don't take her seriously.

I think I've hinted at most of this in statuses, though obviously not all; that's a limitation of mine.

That's a fair question, though. I could have chosen to portray a scene that wasn't from my POV, and if I were just entering it. Further, while I sometimes make statuses that aren't from my POV, they often are, which is limiting. This might mean that I should make more statuses where I am not present.
