Games like minecraft took over the children market, league and other mobas took over the teen market, etc

the boom of other free mmos, particularly free 3D ones, have absorbed most fans of MMOs

not only that, but nexon hasn't done any TV advertisements in atleast 5 years.

Maple was only popular because it came out at the right time and had things that weren't found anywhere else.

Since then, the genre has expanded, and what maple offers isn't particularly impressive anymore, even if it is still very good, and the faster pace of the game makes it more fun.

The age of the online weeb has ended, and socializing, being one of old maple's main selling points, isn't really done anymore
the attitude online has changed, and most people aren't so willing to just go up to someone and start a conversation

the whole pay2win fiasco years ago caused a huge gash, and nexon let it bleed out players, and only recently have they started applying bandages and tending to the wound

royals is nothing like old maple. people level too fast, and get rich too fast. when they make a new character, they leech them to get to endgame bosses faster and if they stick around lower level content like most PQs, its not for long periods of time.

You will never get that satisfying feeling you had when you were younger, spending days at lpq, tracking people and competing to outclick them to get inside and get to that sweet bonus stage.

Instead, you'll party with someone who has a bishop and do 3 stage rush since its faster exp. Its bullshit, but if you didn't get to a high level when you played GMS in the old days, you could try looking forward to that and bossing on royals.

Royals is almost like postbb MS infected old maple and people make a bunch of high level skill mules (SE, SI, HS) almost like how people make link skill mules. They use multiple 4th job mages to take over maps and farm items by afking while their summons kill stuff. People also started caring a lot about range and getting the best gear on royals, as well as spending billions on washing ranged attackers to high hp. It's like postBB aspects of being strong solo taking over preBB content. That's why royals seems fucked up. You might as well play GMS or a postBB pserver.

Then again, any mmo will become boring over time. Nostalgia is kill. But if you don't want to put in time in a new server and stay on royals, you need to find some regular people to talk to / party with / boss with. Endgame bossing is still highly oriented around partying.

Maybe the new source will be decent though?

also, the only attack / range skill buffs you can get are MW20 (no 30 in the server cuz no pink bean), SE and echo. Other than that, you can use onyx apples and stuff for bosses.

forgot to mention he probably has a 95 att purple dragon sleeve. The best you can make so far. The best clean claw in the game is a 60 att PDG (normally 55 att, but the pserver has this ebin :^) godly item system where theres a 10% chance to get an item with up +5 higher than normal stats). And people use white scrolls with 10%s to perfect their weapon.

Legends is actually better than Royals in a lot of aspects, but the lower population is the only thing holding it back (also it feels a bit more nostalgic than Royals but I can barely stand 4x and I'm too far into Royals to switch over completely)
