It depends on the God, honestly. The most common lifesteal item you're going to see is Asi because it's literally the best in slot for almost all Hunters (Ranged physical carries).

Banecroft's Talon is good for mages who're have a lower range than normal and are likely going to be focused like Poseidon, Anubis, Raijin, etc.

Polynomicon is basically the Sheen item of Smite, with it being mostly bought on people like Ao Kuang, Sol, Raijin if you're an asshole and -maybe- Cabrakan if you're trolling.

Bellona was unkillable, her 3 healed for more than triple what it does now. She was tanky, her slow was much, her ult had a lower cooldown with better stats and she could 1v3 easily.

Aphrodite is NOT a support. Healers in this game aren't supports. Your best bet is aphrodite or hel. Both can be played solo. Hel isn't a great pick but she's a better solo than anywhere else. Aphrodite is a good pick, she's still viable in solo after season 3 changes.

Go back to fountain, complete Transcendence, build stacks + free mana. Repeat until 50.

Now, play the patient game. Outlast your opponent until he inevitably goes back to base.

Clear the wave, attack the tower, use your 2 on the incoming wave so your minions focus on the tower, and if you see your opponent on the map, quickly run back and repeat the 2 on archers technique until he fucks off yet again. Try not going back to base unless you have teleport online.

Repeat ad infinitum until you destroy his tower.

Feel free to run around and focus on helping others bring down their towers. Kills are nice but only if it's not a teamfight/just after a teamfight and there are low health enemies.

Kill priority: squishies > quarter health tanks > warriors > full health tanks

She has sustain with her heal. She has great clear with her heal and push. She does damage with those and has a stun. More than you'd expect. She has an ult to make for invulnerable to all damage and CC. She's exactly what the solo lane is about. Sustain and decent clear. She can farm well in solo and survive.

She's fallen off a little with the changes to the relic system, meaning her lane opponent can get curse right off the bat but she's still a solo laner. Like the other anon said, she needs farm to really be a threat in team fights. Late game she'll be tethered to the carry keeping them alive and throwing out her 2 for extra damage.

Support is never used in smite, they are referred as guardians.
Support is a category where the Tanky CC frontline fall in smite, this is a non canonical, player base utilized term that can't be changed.
The only healer who is a "Support" is the thrash tree that gets outclass by all the better supports heavily, just like Hel and Aphro do in most roles.
Selfish sustain is great, healers are off the meta.

One of the key points that people keep missing about support is that they are meant to be behind, in order to give more farm to the team. Guardians have high base damage because they are made to be played while 3 levels behind, but still be useful and deal some damage. If you put a mage in the support role it all falls apart because mages need farm in order to contribute, if they're 3-4 levels behind then they will die within 2 seconds of being attacked. If you stay in lane with your adc and compete for farm as a mage then you're going to fall behind in exp, the enemy adc is going to be 2 levels ahead by playing safe and you're going to have no frontline or initiation for late game teamfights.

Once I saw that season 2 worlds got less viewers than season 1 it was obvious to me that Smite isn't growing much. Conquest is getting stale and boring and without that competitive drive that you need for this genre, it will turn people away.
Hell even this general has been dead as fuck the past 4 months or so, it used to be really active mid season 1- mid season 2. Scrambling for console players is short-term and they will be non existent by the end of the year.

I'm far from an amazing player. I make several mistakes and I miss my fair share of skill shots/autos. But today has fucking shown me why Lassiz hates the game. No matter how fucking well you play, shit teammates can make you lose games. You could fucking go 25/0 and you could still lose the game. Countless times today I warned people that were out of position just to watch them get ganked on the minimap. I did everything I could and it didn't matter.

It actually is good when boxing, since Freya's autos don't suffer from the aoe coefficient when your 1 is active. Not only that but with that much lifesteal you can retreat from a fight at low health to heal off a jungle camp and then rejoin the fight.
