I don't think it's a game to play for PvP, and I'm still fresh so I couldn't tell you how much content there really is. In most ways, it's very standard affair for an MMO but it's very solidly put together and visually fantastic that it doesn't feel boring. It doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, so I feel like instead of trying to 'dethrone' WoW like most MMO's they just made a legitimately solid, modern-feeling entry for an MMO. Plus I have a total weakness for the classic Final Fantasy aesthetic that the game has tons of allusions to, not to mention the rather outlandish monster designs and absolutely adorable character models and animations.

Lvl 18: Get Smite's hammer from DM (taskmaster axe is worse, but ok too if you can't get the hammer). Around lvl 25 you can complete the elite ogre quest in Lakeshire, which will give you a nice green mace (better than taskmaster axe, worse than smite's hammer though). At lvl 30 get your whirlwind weapon ASAP. Ask a guildie to help, or suck some cocks, I dunno, but get it at lvl 30. Don't fall for the axe meme, the sword is a better weapon pre-40, especially if you're leveling fury. But than again, the axe scores style points. If you're ally, you can get a replacement for you WW weapon around lvl 40 by completing the main SM quest. Dunno about horde. At lvl 51 you should get you Ice Barbed Spear from AV, this thing will last you well into the endgame.

As for armor, it's not that consequential. Just run the level appropriate dungeons once or twice and you should be ok. Obviously, check AH now and then for cheap upgrades.

I've done some further research and it does appear that the game was not localized to that language at the time. I found a thread on Nostalrius forum where several Russians have come together to begin translating the game. It's incomplete from what I understand.

I am leveling my first war ever. I followed the guide in the OP and filled in the fury tree. Pre-40, overpower was the only instant attack I had, and it didn't proc very often nor did it hit hard without the talent. I didn't use slam, because in order to do so I would have to switch to berserker stance and lose all my rage. Considering the above, wouldn't a higher speed weapon be better for smoother rage generation and more consistent damage output? If the WW axe misses 3 times in a row, you will find that you haven't dealt any damage in ages and are pretty much fucked. The situation is slightly better with the sword, esp. if human.

After speccing into MS, I can see how slow speed = better. After getting the arms talents to keep rage after stance switching, I can justify using slam. But I don't understand why slow speed is better for a lvl 30-39 fury war. Am I missing something here?

Honestly 1-29 you're just trying to pick up whatever big stick has the highest DPS output, regardless of speed. You're trying to get your first blue wep probably in your 20's.

Getting a swingtimer addon so you can drop the bass as soon you swing your weapon makes your 30's so much easier. You can stick with heroic strike, but that's barely better than auto-attacking when you consider the how much you can output with slam. Granted, the majority of our DPS is actually just auto-attack.

As the memes suggest, you can stick with fury all the way up to 60. In a certain aspect, it's slightly quicker leveling. However, your biggest drawback is that we're on a crowded PvP server, and you're most likely going to get rekt by everyone that passes you by, and warrior is bad enough while leveling as it is. The flexibility Arms gives you, especially later on is incredibly valuable in a majority of situations.
