Imagine how cool would it be if NPCs didn't have their name and affiliation towards the player (enemy / friend) shown in VATS.

Even better, if there were tons of different clothing / armor, and various NPC factions [without a uniform] would wear most of them in random combination.

This way you couldn't tell whether you're looking at Raiders or simply roaming Merchants from a far away, and had to decide if it's worth the risk to expose yourself.

Quick question, when stuff respawns after clearing, is the place supposed to be marked as such?

I cleared the Boston Mayoral Shelter recently and while a lot of other places have remained [Cleared] since I started up, that is back to as if I'd never visited. All the loot has respawned too, including the holotapes.

They don't end. When you fail your quest it basically says "go back to talk to preston" so you end back up in the same loop you were before. If I had failed the quest and not been thrown back into it, I'd probably be cool with it.

The idea they last forever initially, is horrible, the fact you can fail something literally forced upon you without so much as a player decided conversation is ridiculous imo, the fact that it can be started up again just by Preston walking near you is like minutemen hell.

Well that fight was disappointing. Two bottlecap mines and <50 SMG rounds. I know bcap mines are strong but still, it was a Glowing Behemoth. These guys should be real scary. His boulders barely did any damage for some reason, too, and I have very little armor.

I've never used Fo4Edit; can you change NPC hp values? The problem with these difficulty and weapon balance mods is they make fights against humans more reasonable but Deathclaws and Behemoths into chumps as well when they ought to be more like little boss fights IMO.

I liked that part of Dead Money. What I didn't like was how repetitive it was, how confusing the street layout was, how tanky the enemies were even when using the BAR, and overall just boring. It's great. I can't help myself powergaming the fuck out of a Fallout game and get PA as fast as possible, so getting me out of my gear is typically the only way I start sweating profusely in combat since I typically can just take on whole enemy spawns.

And FO is sooo good on limited resources.

Randomly generation is useful, and yes weaving it with handcrafted helps, but it is not a substitute for actually designing an area. When you have such a massive space you will not have the manpower budget or time to fill out the area as well as if you could with a smaller easier to manage space. Plus you have the graphics levels demanded out of AAA games (which I personally disagree with, but can't do anything about). It's just not doable in the current industry.

He literally says himself that the dlc failed in many things
He goes into great detail what their intention was and what worked and what didn't

I personaly liked it, but it's very easy to see why people hated it

I love that feeling of powerlessness. I want a mod that changes loot tables to make everything rare. Like 3 shells in a ammo box but they deal massive damage. So yeah, make that mod.
