Well I wasn't a fan of how The Answer kind of hurt the open ended nature of what happened to the protag after he closed his eyes. I would have been a lot more happy with that ending than The Answer's telling of how he became a door and everyone got all cold and distant. On top of that, from a gameplay standpoint, I think The Answer was incredibly lame. It was half the game The Journey was because there was no day life element. It was just P3's shallow dungeon crawling and battles. I just feel like ever since P3 was a success Atlus went a little overboard with the Persona brand. Should have left the game alone imo and let P4 just be it's own thing. (god the P4 spin offs ruin P4's ending so much. how can that be a heartfelt goodbye when the protag comes back like every week when there's a new problem?)

I gotta be honest I was totally on board with P4 when I first finished it on PS2 all those years ago. I'm a fan when the sequel to something takes a hard opposite direction in tone (instead of being darker and playing as a shy, meek kid the game is more upbeat and sunny and you play as a character that everyone absolutely loves and his persona is the god that created Japan)

I feel like anyone who plays that game now though and knows there's a done of spin off games isn't gonna be able to take any of that shit seriously though. Atlus effectively hurt their own game by trying to add on it in my eyes.

I think fishbones gives Papyrus more depth, showing that he can focus his love on an individual and that he isn't just a bony teddy bear manchild that can't develop an adult relationship. If anything, I'd say that fishbones makes Undyne seem kinder and more passionate. Any relationship would.
