Yes. Max out the specific tree (e.g. reach Rank 10 in Galactic Knight) and you'll be able to equip those weapons in other classes (e.g. Photon Saber with Dual Guns).

Arts are also tied with the weapon you have equipped on. So say for example, I'm in Duelist, but I have my Photon Saber on. I won't be able to use the Duelist's Longsword Arts. Rather, I'd be able to use my Photon Saber Arts.

Not really. There are callbacks here and there, plus some theories that try to explain the weird phenomena happening in Mira (and these theories use what happened in the first game).

I suggest you play this now just because the playerbase is sure to dwindle over time, and it sorta matters when there are online components in this game. You can always just play the first Xenoblade anytime (and I suggest you do so, since it's the best JRPG from last gen, with TiTS, TWEWY and Strange Journey alongside it).

Should be, unless there's some internal CD I don't know about. the past times it happened (launch, conquest meter was full, popped Nemesis on day of release, and then a week building up Conquest Meter, full, popped next day), it worked that way. The difference being that we apparently filled the meter in the time it took for the boss to go away, so I'm not sure if it'll fire, but it should.

I'm really mixed on the music for X.

I really like all the Ambient and Field tracks, with the exception of NLA (Night).
And while the instrumentals are great for them - I absolutely dislike the tracks that have Vocals in them. The vocal pitch for the singers is great. But the Lyrics, the performance of the lyrics, the heavy engrish, and the misplaced tone of the the tracks with any sign of lyrics in them are just terrible.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; The OST sounds like it was made for anime and not for videogame. And yeah - I know Suwano mostly does anime composing.
I just think they could have gotten someone better, or at least toned down how many vocal tracks were in the game.

Even over seas, one would think that having audio settings for anything is an industry standard. And I'm surprised that Nintendo didn't call them out on it.
I'm going to assume that since there is no audio settings in the game to begin with, that it was possibly just as bad in the Japanese version.
In which case; kudos I guess to the localization team for dealing with it. It likely could have been so much worse.

I feel like the reason this happened was because someone mixed down the music track or something.
