I've beaten DS1 several times, just bought DS2 from the steam sale, downloading it now.

My first run is usually a quality build, any decent quality weapons to look out for int he early game?

I haven't read too much about DS2, just that some stats have been changed around (looking at the wiki now to get an idea of them), and that you can lose max health when playing hollow, and that enemies don't respawn. It also looks like the starting gifts are all kind of meh. It seems the ring is the obvious pick, but I'm guessing it won't be useful for long, better to just go for the thing to trade to the crows?

My last run in DS1 was a heavy weapons build. After rolling around like an epileptic for most of my playthroughs, it was quite refreshing to tank a hit and murder someone with a demons great axe. Maybe I'll do another heavy weapon tank build in DS2 in a later run.

You can only pretty much get banned for messing with your SM. And it's even harder to do now because of the introduction of Agape Ring. Like, you can legitimately get it at around 30-50k souls and after that you can even finish the whole game if you want to, without ever having to unequip it.

Dark souls 2? It depends on your stats because infusion messes with the scaling. If your str/dex is high (30++) it's usually better to keep the high str/dex scaling.

You can check the total before/after AR by equipping the weapon before opening the infusion panel. (pic)

I haven't used it on win10 before so I just checked, mine's working fine. Have you installed the SCP driver yet? Click the "hotkeys/about" text at the bottom bar of the DS4win window, then follow the button.

The symptoms you described sound like your system is using the default DS4 mapping, which is very fucked up.

Well, there weren't really any involuntary invasions in DS1 either, since going human would never do anything other than make you look pretty. If you went human, you wanted invasions or co op (or wanted to kindle a bonfire which doesn't involve proceeding through a level in human form).

DeS was the only game that gave you invasions that could be considered involuntary, though mitigated greatly by the inclusion of the cling ring. DS2 tried copying that but fucked up royally with things peripheral to the basic mechanics.

It's really fucking good actually. Highest counter damage of any greatsword, incredibly light for a greatsword, has the claymore moveset iirc which is basically the best GS moveset, incredible dex scaling and base damage too (you can't upgrade/infuse it though). The only real big downside of it is that you lose it when going to the next NG+ cycle.

The Estoc is literally the best weapon in the game for PvP, but it's mainly a matter of skill that determines your success.
Also DaS2 is much easier on you if you fuck up your build because you can respec.
Remember stuff like going past 40 on str or dex is wasteful.

Guide for the Dark Souls 3 fanbase:
1. Don't insult DS1
2. Don't compliment DS2

If you're already doing a quality build I'd infuse it with raw, mundane is still not too bad though. The DLCs are really good but fairly tricky, make sure you've got enough agility to dodge confidently if you're getting minimum stats for santier's. I enjoyed Iron King the most as I didn't get fucked up by a lot by the Fume Knight like everyone else in the whole game seems to have

So I was just invading in DaS1 and got "killed" by this weird spell, which i'm assuming was hacked into the game, but was definitely not a legitimate spell
basically every negative status effect was applied to me including putting all my weapons and apparel to 0% as well as not actually killing me (I was stuck like i got cursed, and had to alt+f4)
