The voices are even different from the CN Asia YW dub. It's actually pretty funny how bad the VA work is for the card commercial, like it was done by some random interns or something. And the video was released back in August, so yeah it looks like it wasnt really meant for the American release.

For me, the dub has some pluses and minuses, but to be honest, I kinda skipped over most of that episode since fart humor only makes me cringe.

Is it ever weird to anyone else to see multiple of certain Yokai?

Seeing 3 Komajiro in one battle was just wrong to me. The anime has made me see it as only being ONE Komasan and ONE Komajiro.

It's about the same as if Keita suddenly had 4 more Whispers living with him.

I think that's just game mechanics, it certainly comes in handy for befriending. The anime makes it seem more like youkai arent as common as regular animals. Their creation is typically unique, unless they're youkai in charge of some kind of force or concept. Like how there's a ton of Pandles.

That's kind of the point of the medals, since they're the primary collectable gimmick. You get the Medals for more sounds in the toy watch, rewards in-game, and here in America they have functionality with a mobile app. The medals are the real draw because they're the cheapest to produce and the easiest to sell.

At least, they were in Japan where gashapon machines are a viable way to sell cheap stuff to kids. Though maybe the blind bag craze over in America will help to sell these things.

But seriously, you will most likely need 90+ yo-kai to take on Black Oni. Try getting a yo-kai with a starver ability to double healing effects of food. Get Ski Masks frol Nul and equip them to your DPS so that they are targeted less by Black Oni's attacks. Get a tank yo-kai that can attract Oni's attention and take blows (Castellius Max works wonders). If you have a missing problem, use Grumples or Everfore so that you can stop missing. If you're tired of loafing, use Beelzebold or Cruncha to stop loafing shit.

Kirameki isn't necessarily based on a specific yokai, but it's a recolor of Todomeki, which is an actual yokai. YW's Todomeki is probably based on both the domeki and the todomeki, which were pretty similar - the former was an oni with a hundred eyes, and the latter was a woman cursed with freakishly long arms covered in eyes. The "kira" in "Kirameki" just means "sparkling," 'cause it's gold.

Honestly, most of the dub voices for the actual yokai are top-notch. Whisper especially, but Jibanyan and Komasan are also great. It's just that everyone else shit the bed with the dub, and the script has its issues (Komasan over-country-fying every line, etc.).
