Hi! I'm not new to the PSO2 general, but I'm new to redroom. Or rather, I started frequently visiting about two months ago. I've currently visited as 4 characters.

TohsakaLoli Rin, Etna, Platinum, and Elesis Sieghart (this also being my ARKS name).

I sort of have an infatuation with making characters mainly because of how versatile PSO2's costume collection is. I also enjoy socializing, and I honestly talk to people often. I like the community so far, despite the mixed reviews I've heard.

And I can't say I dislike anyone, though I can't say the same about others towards me. I'm also very lazy, and a bit of a recluse sometimes so that's why I don't lurk general much.

That aside, I've been playing since September 15th 2015, but I've had my account since 2013. I just didn't get to play it at the time. I came to PSO2 from DFO, League of Cancer, and Elsword. And PSO2 is sort of my second home now.

Rookie question but can I make weapons look like other weapon types or just from the same type of weapon? Like say a wand look like a 1H sword or something.

There's some weapons from other weapon types that give T attack, but not as much as Rod and Talis. Plus you miss out on some special skills from Force.

Techer can be built for melee wandsmacking and tech attacking, along with support techs.
It's not fantastic for damage but it is pretty fun and you can do some silly stuff with it.

I saw this and I liked it. I like the whole drawing enemies in thing plus buff skills, but my friend told me those are for nerds and that I should just focus on offensive magic if im going to play force/techer at all.

Like I said, it's not great for damage, specifically against bosses, but it's great at mobbing and the buffs are way more useful than anyone gives them credit for. Plus you can use a tech called Zanverse that'll add more damage, or Megiverse to give everyone in the field lifesteal on their attacks.
It's very useful, but your raw damage isn't great.

distract is alright but you have to readjust your positioning with normals if the lock on goes 90 degrees or more from the direction you face after using it. for example, you're using distract on wolga face and it does its sumo pounds under you and stops close behind. you either need to normal attack to redirect and then PA, or shift action (burns gear, gear = damage) back in front of it and PA. with justice, you can either just PA at that point, or burn the gear, then rebuild it using justice since it gives a lot.
justice also has a large hitbox on its pre-fire hits and can be directed vertically while distraction is pretty narrow in that axis.

Several new series of 13*s were introduced that can be exchanged with stones

Ares weapons can now be exchanged for with 60 ares stones each, 20 ele. Anga and Deo Hunar (from the xmas eq) drops them.

Nemesis and Slave weapons are stone drops and their stones can be gotten from nab and lili ult respectively. They can also drop.

Xie anniversary weapons can only be traded for with badges which drop from the LQ and xmas EQ, alongside Profound Invasion.

Invader weapons can be exchanged for at zieg's for 100 caligulas (dropped from the profound darkness eq) and 100 excubes.

Austere weapons are currently one of the strongest series of weapons and needs a whole bunch of shit: corresponding invader weapon, 100 caligulas, 100 neros (rare drops from any falz except persona), 50 of each ult stone, 5 of each xq magic stones, 300 excubes and 10 photon boosters from challenge mode.

Upcoming series of Orbit weapons will require stones from TD4 and stones from TD1-3.

You forgot the XH harukotan series (I'm not sure what their name is), although those are limited to certain weapon types.
