Just started playing along with a friend of mine. We've been trying to play in a part but the game keeps forcing us to do sections of the game solo. Is there a way to bypass this, or is it just like this all the time?

That's what we're trying to figure out I guess.
We don't really want to be doing the boring shit together, and the interesting shit separate, but if the solo stuff starts being less intrusive, we'll manage.
It's more that thusfar the stuff we have been able to do together has mostly been talking to NPCs, running past enemies that don't aggro, and occasionally having to kill a couple of trash mobs, which is kinda dull, and the time spent solo seems to be longer than time spent in a party.

the new starter island is designed to tell a story so if you're not into that, then it's pretty boring

just run through it and you'll get to about level 10~14 then you'll take pegasus to velika. The story quest will have less "solo" part from then on.
Honestly, the leveling experience is pretty bland unless you like the scenery and the story. The fastest way to end game nowaday is soloing dungeons

Its pretty much the same 40-80 people because I rarely stream, unless I feel like it. Most people come to watch me do 3v3s anyways. I didn't stream much recently because finals and I was making the video. There's not much point to streaming tera right now for me or streaming in general because there's nothing interesting to stream unless you want to watch corsair 24/7.

I really do like this thread, with quality posts such as
"Had the brawler genocide thread been allowed to stay, it probably would have vanished off the front page a long time ago without another word. Mudkip would have probably gotten bored of ganking brawlers in a few days, and things would have reverted back to normal. It was just mudkip being mudkip."

It's really funny because I finished doing most of it on the day of release, and did about two days more, barely doing much on those two days. The reason that there was such a big delay in actually producing the video was that it actually takes a really long time to edit the footage to come out nice like that. I had about 700 video files I had to go through and clean up and get to .2 seconds each.

Everybody acts like this is the ONLY thing I do for some reason, ignoring the three meme pvp videos before that one. Its pretty funny because of all the hate coming at me because oh man he didn't follow the rules he's blatantly disrespecting eme blah blah blah. If there was a legitimate stated rule or warning that hey stop killing brawlers then I would have stopped. I got banned for posting the video, because had I not posted it I wouldn't have even gotten a ban in the first place hahaha. I actually had about three eme people come into my stream to say hello and one to egg on people to come kill me. If I really was going to get banned for pking brawlers I would have gotten ding dong bannud immediately the moment danicia hosted me for 3k people to watch me start shooting distant blades at brawlers on the bridge haha.

The worst part about brawlers is the fucking knock up. It is so annoying and there is nothing you can do about it. At least the fucking gunner knock up you could roll out of it.

Also I've been reported tons of times for killing lowbies even before the brawler update and literally nothing has happened, so pretty stupid people would think this would change anything.

I'm at level 55 and leveling has slowed to a crawl, what are easy ways to get it to go faster? I've just been spamming the dungeon that's at that level range, the sky gardens.

You can do story quests if you want, but sky garden is your best choice currently. Just keep spamming it. Do LoT once you get to 58, it will be a new, hopefully welcome sight and you'll get marginally more experience so that should feel nice. At 59 do ebon tower and you should basically get your entire level from one run, maybe you'll need two but really it's fast. Upwards of 40mil exp from some bosses. Once you're 60 just do story as per usual, super easy leveling there on out.

It isn't, just because you spend so much time running around. Doing sky garden over and over feels really slow because of its repetitiveness and all the breaks/slow sequences in it, but its great exp. Story is viable though, if you just need a break from sky garden then the best thing to do is the Habere story quest at 57 which will take a bit to do but once you're done you get a story quest for LoT. Do LoT once and do story quests and you'll be level 59 with a story quest to do ebon tower. Do that once and with story quest you will be 60.

i know you mean well but your advice is outdated. what you're saying used to be the best choice but its not anymore. if you follow story quests 58-60 takes 20 mintues. yes the running around is boring but no less boring than killing trash in ET/LoT. the old story quests that gave ~5m xp before now given ~40m xp. and LoT/ET are not faceroll like all the lower level dungeons. LoT at 58 means you are using the lvl 55 avatar wep which takes a long time to kill the trash (unless brawler).

It's not outdated, I just did it. I mean I agree with you, story is a really good way to go. I got tired of doing sky garden so I stopped and did story quests instead, so if anon is tired of doing sky garden then they should absolutely do story quests. Efficiency wise though, doing sky garden over and over is really good exp. LoT and Ebon tower even more so since a run of ET gives practically 10 SG runs worth of exp.

Keep in mind when I say all of this I'm talking about 5-manning, so your avatar weapon alone shouldn't be contributing to a slow run. If you're queueing and queues are taking long that's another thing, you should be doing story quests regardless if you're in queue.

The LoT/ET story quests are the most important thing though. You can get great exp anyway by going to tirkai/zulfikar and doing story there, but if you have a group of 5 or better yet 1 level 60+ to carry you in vanguard gear or better, you can do 58-60 in 20 minutes by doing LoT/ET with their story quests.

Fuck, I had a huge reply typed out for you but app crashed so I might be a bit more lazy this time.

First thing you need to know is consumables are important in Tera all the way to endgame. Learn them well.
Key consumables you want to have:
HP/MP potions
Panaceas to restore stamina
Campfire (needed to use charms, also stamina regen)
Power charms, infused charms, enduring? charms
Crit power scrolls <- since avatar weapons give near guaranteed crits these make a big difference in leveling or high end gear in endgame.

Don't worry about priest buffs if you can't get them, but they are EXTREMELY useful if you can.

Crystals you want:
Wrathful, Carving, Focused, Pounding on your weapon for DPS.
Replace either Carving or Pounding with Threatening if you are tanking for a group.
Hardy for armor.
The game will throw focused, Pounding, threatening and Hardy crystals at you through mail, for Carving and Wrathful you'll need to buy them from NPCs (there's a crystal NPC at the entrance of dungeons now that will sell the appropriate level of them)
You can buy green quality versions from players but since you're new I'd save your gold.

Don't try to force soloing dungeons if you can't do it though. You're new, just follow story quests if you want. They give so much experience you don't even need to do side quests. Have fun!

Hey guys I was hoping I could get some class advice. I've been absolutely loving brawler this past week or so, but it does have some downsides for me. Namely I don't really want to tank all the time, and I don't want to be cucking aggro if I ever try to DPS. I've never really been able to find a class that is 100% a fit for my tastes, but brawler and reaper are the best so far with how fluid their attacks are and how fast they are. I'm more interested in pure melee than reaper mid-range though.

However, someone told me tonight that warriors are supposed to have really fluid attacks as well. Warrior is actually one of the only classes I haven't gotten to max level before, so could someone please answer some questions about it.
Would you compare it to being similar in attacks and power to brawler and reaper?
Does it feel very fluid to you? Going from attack to attack without feeling much pause?
How is it doing in DPS now and in foreseeable patches?
Will my firm grip on swords help relieve your stress?

So does enmasse even bother with live support anymore? Last time I put in a ticket well into what should've been their hours and there was no live support going on. And lastly, I see that elite gives you a real shitton of benefits that I can't really weight since I have not played the game yet and it worries me that the game may inconvenience you too much without it.

For PvE you're gonna end up doing your typical MMO shit, you're gonna get gear from the 60-64 quests that you will 100% need to start out doing dungeons regardless of class. From the dungeons you get your PvP guides. It's pretty linear so outside of that there should be no problems.

Right now the new class, Brawler is really good. Gunner, Reaper are right behind it. Sorc and archer are probably, in my opinion, the worst thing you could pick as a newcomer. Most other options should be okay choices, though slayers are at least not doing well in PvE right now, not sure about PvP. They can be fun at least.

I don't feel like writing it all over again but it covers things like consumables which are an important factor of the game that most people don't learn early on. Crystals will depend on what class you choose, so that part doesn't apply to you unless you pick a brawler. Generally though, if you pick a DPS class you want to stack crit crystals (Savage/Bitter/Focused - all provide a stacking amount of crit bonus for being behind the boss) unless you're a brawler, in which case you can't crit from the back since you'll be tanking so you'd use a wrathful crystal (front crit) like mentioned in the post.

Elite gives amazing bonuses, once you have it you'll feel inconvenienced not having just because it lets you get around faster, you get rewards daily for having it, and you get exp/gold bonuses and stuff. You can make gold and buy it off the auction house, so it isn't a big deal, and until you get too used to having it, you honestly probably shouldn't care about not having it.

The game definitely has some aspects of it that could be considered p2w but in a very roundabout way and nothing is exclusive to people who don't pay, almost everything can be purchased from another player. To explain the classes in as few words as I can

>Lancer
Tank, blocks attacks with a lance and a shield. When I say blocks attacks I mean you literally block at the right time to negate damage.
>Brawler
same thing except they use fists and punch things, and they do really high damage too right now, like higher than other classes. They're very OP.
>Gunner
ranged class, has a large cannon, a robot that will self heal you, lots of loud rocket noises (they sound good) and stuff, hits really hard, generally easy class.
>Reaper
Mid range melee, they use dual scythes, they play at a pretty fast pace. Don't even worry about making one of these until you're level 40 on one character, but once you can they're fun and they practically start at level 58, easy to make gold with.
>Slayer
Uses a two hand sword, fast paced two handed melee class, pretty fun and can dodge a lot, but not doing well right now in PvE
>Berserker
Uses two hand axe, can tank but is normally a DPS, slower paced than slayer, but hits much harder sometimes. Charges up a lot of skills whereas slayer instantly uses them.
>Warrior
dual sword wielding melee, fast paced, has lots of dodges and can also tank but again is naturally DPS.
>Priest
generic healer, has buffs and so on
>Mystic
don't play this yet until you understand the game a bit more and already like healing as is
>Archer
ranged class, plays kindof like a ranged berserker with a lot of charged ability, kindof slow, I wouldn't play this yet but it wouldn't be the worst decision
>Sorc
ranged magic class. EXTREMELY DIFFICULT ROTATION compared to every other class. Don't start with this, it will be the worst decision. They're fun, but they're very a very high skill level class with very low reward, so only make it if you understand that and are willing to either a) suck or b) put in a lot of effort to not suck, and even then brawlers will shit on everything you try with a few key presses

You'll earn a lot of gold just by leveling 60-65 no matter what, even more if you're already elite. You can make reapers to repeat this process if you like leveling, since its easy to get them to the 60+ quests, but not everyone just wants to repeat leveling.

The normal way to get gold at 65 is to run a solo instance called Ghillieglade which gives 300-600gold regularly depending on if you're elite or not.
Also, you'll get a panel that shows you dailies to be done and you can do like 16 of them each day, they give gold, feedstock (used for enchanting) and credits for a faction. The credits can be spent on useful things or things to sell for more gold. Feedstock you'll mostly be using once you first get to 65 to enchant your gear, but if you don't need them you can sell them for even more gold.

Don't worry about that, there are some combinations that have slightly faster animations, but they're like .01-.02 seconds difference. You'd be much happier just picking a race you like. If you're really concerned though you can look up animation times on youtube, I'm not going to bother linking it.

There's a lot of people who get shit here sometimes, myself included, but even so it's a nice place to return to.
