I think the map and some menu assets got updated to support higher resolutions, but I could be remembering 1.05 wrong.

There's some new outfits, and lots of performance enhancements (the game no longer shits itself when you're pulling back to launch a unit).

I beat the whole thing (all levels, all difficulties) in a couple of evenings on 1.05 so I didn't spend a ton of time trying out 1.091. If there were other changes I missed them.

So I finally decided to give MSE a try and, after playing it for a bit and checking the readme and pastebin FAQ, I cannot figure out how to quickset another weapon.

I passed the quickset tutorial somehow without even using it and just equipping the guns normally, in the actual game I've tried to go to my weapons tab and try every combination of options I can pick when I'm choosing my weapons, and I'm getting nothing.

Also, is there a way to grind in this game with lower level enemies? Seems like you can only go further down for every door you enter and the readme just talks about going further into the abyss, no mention of entering doors and not having to constantly fight harder and harder enemies.

The quickset involves using a skill. Using the skill just lets you normally change gear without it taking up a turn. That's what the tutorial was for. The only quickset feature is double tapping a button (Q, I think?) to switch which weapon is in your dominant hand when you're using a weapon that puts a blade/gun in each hand.

If you want to grind without having to keep going into lower floors, just retreat. Go back to the safe area you came from. Or go to any other safe area. Or use the trap the pastebin FAQ mentions that can send you back to the last safe area you were at.

Yeah but I've never been able to successfully change weapons by using the skill which the tutorial, that was for quickswapping, was for. I've tried it again and again and I always have to manually go into the equipment tab and change weapons by replacing my current weapon with the new one.

The icon that looks similar to the quickswap ican was the one that I assumed would apply the new weapon to the skill but it did absolutely nothing. If I ever use the skill the same weapon that I had in my main hand is still there with no swapping ever taking place.

Running into a monster nest is based on chance, you're bound to run into one eventually. As far as I'm aware the only manipulation of that chance is it's increased for the next floor to have one if you finish a floor with the trap detection status effect you get from the Bestseller item (fills in map of floor you're on) and from the trap that can send you back to a safe area. If you're referring to the floor that's just one wide open room (that's usually also a monster nest) that one has a higher chance of appearing the deeper you go in a dungeon in general.

I apologize, I'm conveying the point wrong. You're doing it right. The skill literally gives you a status effect and nothing more. Manually going into the equip menu and changing your weapon is what you're supposed to do. The status effect simply lets you do it without eating a turn (as normally switching weapons or loading ammo will eat a turn). That's all it does. The skill's icon gets used for other stuff that's unrelated (like for example the Rondato skill, which is simply used for jumping).

Switch out food reward with cheap gifts every here and there as well, because if you give them the same treat two times in a row it won't really work so mix it up when you give them treats. You could even just swap the two lowest over and over again and it'll be fine, but then she'll get fat so try to give her other gifts instead of just candy and shit like flowers or perfume.

Also, do not sell your slave in the auctions or to the bidding faggot because you will get pennies for what you have put into them. Go to establishments or the residences in each quarter to get maximum yield from your slaves.

Farming renown and money is pretty easy when you get a hold of it, I tend to farm nurses for awhile till I get a nice foothold and can start to train an assistant to help out.

Also, the feeling of trivializing the debt by making twenty times the existing interest every day is another thing that's incredibly satisfying. This guy is really good at game design, if nothing else.
