For mainly coop just go 40/40 vit and blt and get base str for the weapon, that'll put you at about 70 which gives enough range to coop woods and beyond while having more than enough stats for great health and damage, you could cut some points if you want to be lower

I just finished the DLC (and did the sidequests) and I've seen a lot of people here talking about what exactly the secret of the church is. In the DLC, Maria is supposed to be protecting the secret and she literally blocks the path to hamlet, and Brador is the guy the church didn't want leaking secrets who runs around trying to kill you if you poke your nose into it. Is there any solid explanations of what happened with hamlet, or are we meant to take it as a generic "The church did some fucked up experiments on these people and now they're all slug and fish monsters"?

Dodge into blindspot, shut off your targeting computer and let the force guide you, then repeat when he runs away.

If you have the right stats, bone ash cannon to the face can knock him down pretty quick.

The people didn't turn into fishmonsters because of experiments. They were already fishmonsters by the time Byrgenwerth arrived, probably because of the contact with a dead Great One and the parasites in its corpse. Byrgenwerth discovered that and decided to go around experimenting on the villagers to find out more, including boring holes in their skulls while they were still alive to poke around and see if they could find eyes on the insides of their heads.

That's the big secret. They invaded and violated a small fishing village and then hid it from the world, using the research gleaned from it to fuel the experiments in the research ward that eventually lead to the development of the ayys and the choir.

Given the curse the guy at the front of the hamlet is saying, it was the church continuing what the scholars of byrgenwerth started.

I actually did some digging on my own, invading so I can inspect the area with enemy placement intact. The biggest thing that hints what the church and byrgenwerth may have been doing is the area where you start encountering the slug women, the enemies there are excavating shells and extracting eggs, and two of the slugs are watching a curse casting enemy. Personal theory is that the various phantasm tools were taken from the village, and during it they tried to catch Kos and accidentally killed her in the process.

Opinion. I found that they were easy to dodge, but where she combos so much, if you fuck up she hits you a couple times and forces you to heal a lot, depleting your vials. In phase 3 the lingering flames also gave me problems when trying to get around her or create distance. The fight is also very visually stimulating because she's always on screen, and the blood and fire effects are cool, and you have to dodge a lot. Similar to Artorias. It's not the hardest, but it's fun.

Living Failures is easy as fuck. Cleric Beast is the only boss I find easier. Beat them first try on NG+ with only 4 vials. Kite them around the lumenwood tree. Done.

I believe the camera problem was an engine-limitation they simply didn't have the in-house tech to remedy. It appears to be simply a physical object that they've made invisible, so it collides with other objects in the world, like walls and enemies, and gets stuck on them. Dodging under bosses is the biggest source of the problem, since the camera can't follow you through the boss' collision and will simply become trapped on it, ceasing to follow you entirely, until you or it move at such an angle that allows the camera to come free.
Darkbeasts are just the worst example of this because of their shape, but it really happens to virtually every boss in the game. It's also the reason why you can't rotate your camera properly if it's against a wall. It hits the wall and simply stops moving, because the wall blocks the 'object' the camera is bound to from moving in that direction.

Unfortulately the damage is extremely underwhelming considering how slow and stam hungry it is. The range is really the only thing is has going for it and even then the recovery time almost makes it not worth it.

Original is radial x2 and triangle, which is perfect for physical weapons. The only slot you should stay away from is waning-- those are only useful for fire/bolt weapons.

What's the best gun for parrying? Are they all same? I don't tend to put points in bloodtinge, so damage isn't really a concern.

you have a couple of options: if you want to be viable for PvP your vit is too low, it needs to be at least 40 really. That leaves you with 16 points. You can either take skill and BT to 37 and have a decent Bowblade build, or pile the rest on BT and use Chikage and Bloodletter just in tricked mode. I would go with even skill and BT as bowblade is good and you can use skill weapons too. You wont be quite as strong as other PvP players, but no true Bowblade build is. And it really is fun
