I was working on it, was about 3k words in on it, then I had intense computer issues and mistakenly made a factory reset, I had most of my work backed up but the epilogue was among the casualties.

I really had fun making courier but in the end as I grew as a writer I realized I had made a multitude of mistakes. I made the relationship go too fast, I didn't spend enough time fleshing out the characters. And lastly it really was a product of my psyche at that time, I was depressed and had quite a number of troubling thoughts involving suicide. This kind of shallow lovey dovey cuddle fest was a bit of an escape into a place where there was adventure and sexy alien chicks.
But as I began to recover I realized that the whole thing could have been infinitely better if I waited a bit for Ril and Fred to become romantically entangled. There were hints of this new development, the story arc on omega was supposed to be longer and more fleshed out than before. But about that time I was losing interest in long fics set in mass effect. If I was to write a long piece then I wanted to create a universe of my own, catering to what I want in a Sci-fi universe. Augmentation, biotech modification, seedy lairs of scum and villainy and towering skyscrapers gleaming in the morning sun. Desolate colonies on strange worlds.
ME has all those things, but not in the way I like them, and at some point you'll have to stop bending and stretching an established universe to suit your throbbing writing boner. Instead you must create your own universe that fits you perfectly.

I'll still write the epilogue, I owe my fans that much. It might not be done this year, but it will be done.

Like I've said before, biotics have 'a higher metabolism' because they expend a lot of energy creating mass effect fields. To compensate, they need to eat more. That's it.
