Faces are kinda gender-neutral and the body is almost completely neutral if not for some somewhat odd chest proportions. "Ambiguous" wasn't quite the word I should have used.
Customization ultimately defines the gender you want to give your Tenno, though they'll look somewhat more feminine due to being so young.

It should also hint that they're going to fix it for real eventually. Ember also got two buffs, her "rework" that made World of Fire a quasi-toggle and the final buff that made it worthwhile to use because it became a real toggle. Saryn will probably have miasma buffed and contagion removed or maybe buffed into usefulness somehow.
