How different is the gameplay from infinity compared to 4/5? I really enjoy playing it so I'd like to try the other games now.

I started with Infinity and then moved to 5 and AHL+. Changing the pitch feels a little weird in 5 compared to Infinity and you have to actually be conservative with missiles, but otherwise it's not too different.

they're leagues apart in some areas and identical in others
for example, flight in Infinity has a lot more weight to it and also uses the kinda ridiculous high-g turns from 6, but the arcadey bits are pretty much the same, missile lock > push button > hope you got the right angle
The new unlock system is better too, but I'm not a huge fan of how it was implemented since it's still grindy as fuck which is made worse by >3 games per day
4/5/0 are awesome games but if you're used to Infinity they'll feel dated
Their strength lies more in atmosphere and story IMO

That's not really an air combat maneuver.
It's the final lesson.

Looking back on it, the entire wizard fight was just an extended sequence of scissors transitioning into a defensive spiral once the rest of the squadron got a position on me, and then making a run for it, and coming back for the joust.

I distinctly remember high yo-yos being rather effective against one of the squadrons that was consistently out turning my F-15C and getting in phase while scissoring.

It's a lose/lose situation. Either we break free from the f2p hell that is Infinity or we lose countless hours of grinding.

Latecomers have already missed out on so many skins/emblems/planes/etc. I hope they just leave Infinity servers up and give us a new multiplayer that lets us play an unlimited amount of times without sortie fuel bullshit.

Alternatively you can switch to standard missile to target the old fashioned way and switch back to GPB, which will not change the target.

S rank is dependent upon two things - total score and destruction of all targets. That's why sometimes you'll finish a normal mission with an A rank even when there's still time on the clock, for instance on pipeline if you get the fleet emergency update and nobody kills the subsystems.

Only the objectives count towards destruction of all targets in special raids, so as long as your score is high enough it'll still count for an S rank even if there are targets left. The rescue bonus really comes in handy here since you can make up for multiple missed targets with it.

I've lost S chances on Moby Dick because my teammates always attack the main vessel first and rush the final cockpit before killing the side vessels. Very annoying.

spent my last set of 6 fuel for the day, no nagase drop, bought the standard shinden and put my Ranko emblem on, it's a bit slow but after slapping some speed parts to it it handles quite nice, will have to get it to level 5 before I can use it properly.

In Infinity the planes are ridiculously maneuverable, especially with the high-g turn mechanic.
Going from that to playing 4 and 5, many crashes were had before I realized there was no such mechanic and the planes took a while to do loops.
Other than that, missile locks, SPWs and stuff behave in much the same way.

Basically the idea that someone made the Raptor reach maximum speed (over Mach 3) and the stress pulled off all the radar-absorbent paint.
In short, very fast but no protection from missile locks. Might be a fun thing to use if you want a top tier plane with the challenge of avoiding missiles.

Aside from cosmetics, is there any significant advantage to the flash over the vanilla raptor? I've been looking to retire my SU-35 for a while I've been eyeing the Raptor. I've got some nice skins for it and it's a cool plane in general.

Also, I was looking at skins and realized I've got all of them but the AC ones and this one. What's more I've never seen someone fly it, ever. Was it a rare tourney award or something?

Flash sucks. It has better stats than the standard Raptor, but as a special plane it'll cost way more to upgrade and needs forms to go past 10, so in practice it'll perform worse anyway. HCAAs are worse than QAAMs too.

Get into assembler mentioned in OP's post. Then choose your planefu and arm it with best parts suited for your experience with it. Brng it to level 11. Check the stats. Then bring it to level 20. Results will probably be the same, or "diminishngly" better, yet still not justifiable enough to blow millions worth of credits into it.

Keep in mind that this only applies to damage. Other stats like speed, mobility, defense, etc. will keep increasing until the soft cap at S+. In fact, any plane that hasn't hit S+ by 10 will actually start seeing bigger boosts past level 10.

For low tier planes it's a good idea to at least get to 15 where you'll have decent all-around stats, and you won't be paying much more than the cost to get a higher tier plane to 11.

True. Speed is capped at 3197 km/h at sea level but acceleration still grows. Any stat growth up to S+ is also beneficial, I agree that at least lvl 15 is a good idea for low cost planes. Higher cost planes don't need the extra levels as much.
