Is there a secret trick to the boom hammer? I got it to +10 and put all the best gems i had into it and despite it doing decent damage with the ignite going, it still falls short to the whirligig saw per hit. I was under the impression the boom hammer was going to do good damage per hit to make up for the big stamina consumption and shit moveset. Ludwig was stuck in that nightmare for ages as a rape horse losing his mind unable to even perceive the presence of the moonlight sword on his own back. He sat around never knowing if the church hunters were honorable and just. He was surrounded by living corpses moaning and unable to die.

Plus Artorias was pretty much dead when you met him, it's like pulling the plug on someone that had a lobotomy and is in a coma with 90% of his body failed.

Coming from Dark souls 2 with reskinned smelter demon which had exactly the same moveset, and a fight that's just literally 2 of the same boss you fought before-I just can't hate laurence like most of you guys do.

He has new moves, and the aoe on his attacks forces you to adjust. The legless phase was also a mind fuck, and the fucking thing can still jump.

Beat him at +3 & it's suffering enough. I used pizza cutter R1 & beast pallets, it builds up beasthood real fast as most said.

When in his second phase do just one forward lunge attack & hit him another time & back off. You have to take real slow & patient when in his second phase.

Not really. You can upgrade it just like every other weapon, and it actually has very high damage because it scales B in 2 stats.

The thing about it is that the great sword aspect is slow as fuck, but newbies use it anyway (DSP) because it has good damage on paper.

I'm NG+7 for a couple reasons. I wanted more blood rocks, I wanted more echoes, and I thought it'd be fun.
I know I can deal with his second phase if I can just get to it, I'll just snipe his ass down with charged Bowblade shots. Just can't get him there. I'll try the pizza cutter/beast pellets thing, though. One good thing about being so high in NG+ is that I can do whatever build I please.

Eh, the slow attack rate is easily balanced by the high damage for people with decent timing.

It makes a great main weapon, but it's a good idea to keep something unexpected and faster for an STR/ARC build. Something you can buff, like the Whirligig or Beast Cutter.

Best advice is to stock on sedatives and attack them. The pizza cutter SHOULD keep them stunlocked and then you only have to worry about frenzy.

Wearing the crow head and ash set can help with frenzy.
