That said, dungeons were balanced around rares, but why would you not get exo to run them? Same deal.

I feel that as if toughness was worth more, a lot of gameplay problems could be solved

The system right now is kinda weird.
Right now, Exotic armor at lvl 80 gives you between 920-1211 armor, which is is kind of a pathetic difference.
Anyway, the damage done is Weapon strength multiplied by power multiplied by coefficient divided by armor, so heavy armor will completely nullify an average zerker gear

I just cant ge tbehind how weird this makes everything, because you just cant gauge how much protection you get from a piece of equipment with toughness on it.
Toughness is literally the hardest state to evaluate

What's so expensive about viper? Leaf fossils are under 1s. Even with 30 per insig that's pocket change. Black diamonds are 3g per, so it'd be 10g per insig. If you're making 2g a day on quartz, you'll have that recovered eventually even in the relatively gold-starved environment as it currently exists.

Now, what do you need viper for? Raids? Presumably you'll make back you investment quicker.

If you're not starting from 0g I don't see what the problem is.

The problem is that ANet just decided to fuck the entire economy over because fixing the current one would be too much of a backlash from farmers and exploiters that like the current single-material-shortage.

If they'd let us mix&match our own insignias with every of the materials represting one Attribute (blood is power, scales are toughness, totems are healing, etc.) then we'd all be able to have the equipment we want. But Anet refuses to fix the fucking PvE so that we can finally use something other than Zerkers, so the Blood-driven economy persists.
Right now the crafting system seems to serve the economy, not the other way around.

The crafting system doesnt seem to exist to give people cool stuff they can use, but to force people to play more to get stuff they need for new content.
The biggest problem I have is that Sinister is so absolutely different from all other 3-stat-combos.
WHY?
4-Stat Combos and Celestial: I could understand, gate that with Quartz.
But why do they gate some of the stuff not with Quartz but with these 3-gold-a-piece mats?

The pair met on the outskirts of the city, where the practical one was boarding his unipersonal ascension drill to get to the surface. "Take me with you, I don't have any way to survive this chaos!" begged the recondite student, quivering from his tips to his toes.

"I don't know," replied the practical one as he closed the hatch and started the arcano-impeller to take him to safety, "Look at all the new fields opening up. I think the situation deserves more study."

Controlling mid helps you control the sidenodes, the problem is that most players can't rotate well enough to control sidenodes properly. Otherwise it's a solid strat if you're running a squishy comp. Spreading is only better if you have a bruiser heavy comp.
