The timeline is it happens before the End Times. There is not going to be a "starting date" there will not be dates in the game itself. It is possible that they will allow characters that aren't suppose to exist alongside others due to time constraints to do so. Making it very much like the table top.

Hey guys just got Napoleon total war and never played one of these games before. I'm playing the Prussian campaign and doing pretty well military wise but am kind of lost on the whole global aspect.

I keep getting rebellions and it recommends I should change my government type. How do I do that? Also, what kind of units and strategy are the Prussians good at? Their skirmishers seem really good, especially the jaegers, and the line infantry with fire and advance are awesome too, but I feel my other units are lackluster performance wise. Maybe I'm just using them wrong. It feels like I have a far more elite but smaller army most of the time. Most battles have been 3:1 in their favor and I still win handily.

Final question. Is there a way to increase the musketeers range? I'm slightly outranged by other line infantry and its annoying.

Huns are broken as fuck. Playing the WRE and mostly being on the defensive, my garrisons (sometimes with small armies) could obliterate 4 armies of different kinds of barbars with few losses just by standing on walls with crossbowmen and shit raining death. Meanwhile, on my most heavily fortified city with an entire full stack garrisoned inside, mongols would always put up a hell of a fight that I almost lost at times - not even because of morale, but sheer numbers. Even their infantry is fucking strong as shit.

I've actually somehow managed to break them to the point where they're actually keked. In my ERE campaign I made them my client, they declared independence a few turns later, and they wouldn't accept a straight peace treaty but would accept becoming my client again and giving me 5000 shekels.

Chinese-like mountain faction, but generally fields light troops

If I go into preferences.script and change the multiplier from 1 to 2 it seems to change the multiplayer haphazardly giving different units different multipliers, for instance professional yari is 400 men, ordinary is 800 and drafted is 540...

Hey, so I just got Third Age Total War and I'm loving everything about it. But I also wanted to try Elder Scrolls TW. I know that TATW uses the Kingdoms.exe slot to run, so I was wondering how ESTW did things if anyone here knows. I'd prefer to have both installed and swap between them if I could. The reasoning was that if an armed force was garrisoned in a city, they tended to run amok and cause problems, which would culminate over time. Not to mention extended periods of time exposed to the populous formented rebellion in the army. Instead you either have them patrol (I.E. actually doing useful stuff instead of lazing around and raping peasants) in order to get the bonus.

In actuallity it's to try and reduce the player from putting their armies in garrisons to withstand better forces, and force more field battles.

Shogun 2: Battles are fought like in Medieval, but it uses the Empire engine, so it's closer to an Empire Total War battle as Mughals against Marathras.

The Expansion (Fall of the Samurai) is what Napeolon SHOULD have been. Glorious matchlock and artillery combat.

Well, I only played it after launch but didn't try the Empire Edition too much yet, which supposed to have all the patches and everything, so maybe the weird performance issues are fixed. Although the delay to display units information was still there.

Now the UI … it's just messed up in every possible way. From battles to campaign, an UI mod would make it at least somehow tolerable for me.

I don't expect the AI to be fixed or anything.

But that's wrong. FOTS is ages ahead technologically, and it translates - both artillery and firearms are WAY deadlier since it's much faster and more accurate, and bringing the fight to an infantry charge (which was nearly always decisive in a napoleonic era engagement) is almost impossible.

Not sure, but let's say he's cut below the elbow - it's a tight fitted hollow structure so the stump fits in without much wiggle room, then some straps/belts around shoulder and chest (I'd assume it depends on the height of the stump). It's definitely not perfect, but good enough to help with certain daily tasks, maybe hold a shield on horseback.

Napoleon is probably consistently my favorite TW game, I love the setting and find the game fun as fuck, plus in some aspects is probably the most tactical one

Shogun 2 is great but I find the campaign a little lacking, FotS is even better but I can't stop cheesing the AI

Attila is pretty great, Rome 2 is good but a little barebones and kind of dead on the water, as soon as some more Attila mods (like AE) is out it'll be completely useless

I have high hopes their next non-Warhammer title should learn a lot from the blunders of Rome 2 and what in Attila was an improvement

I tried the lastest crusader. Frankly, I am NOT having fun with it. I can't really explain why or how, but it's a mix of several stuff.

>advanced structures take an insane amount of wood to be built
>huts are biggers if built close to your dungeon
>units placement is weird
>far less sieges units than in Crusade 1

My favourites are still Stronghold Crusaders and Stronghold Legends, they make up for decent skirmishes. Crusader is still the best IMO.

Aight, senpai, here's my Odrysian campaign so far. I just got done purging the Tylisians. I had no quarrel with them, but I decided from the beginning that the Thracian peoples, with the Odrysian Kingdom as their vehicle, had a great destiny. Remove pork REMOVE PORK all of Balcanica, great Haemus, is for Thracians. I'm currently at war with the Scythians, but they haven't attacked yet so I have time to amass funds to bribe them and armies to intimidate them. I figure I have three choices:

>move west, betray the Illyrians and unify the Adriatic and Black seas, buddy with Athens and let them wear down Macedon, if they win they'll be easier to fight than Macedon
